Gotta love ATS, it's usually about aliens probing you but here you are with your advice.

No, I can't do what I want to do mostly because of my epilepsy and the diet I have to have to control it.

I can't back a trailer well anymore with the epilepsy and increase of array thinking. I cannot ride a motorcycle anymore, not even a four wheeler out in the woods or on trails...I have no desire to ride a regular bicycle anymore anyway, gave that up when I was around eighteen years old....used to spend lots of time on a bicycle when I was young and I am still sick of it...but the sound of a nice Harley or four stroke engine under my butt is something I still like. Not much balance anymore after the temporal lobe got messed up though.

I gave my three boats and canoe away to the kids and my brother....it is frustrating not being able to back a trailer into the lake anymore. Back also cannot take the pounding of a four wheeler or motorcycle from so many past incidents of hurting it. Been screwed up for a week now.

It isn't getting old that is my problem, it is that I really abused my body working and doing risky things in the past that has screwed things up. I never even got to do bungy jumping or jump out of a perfectly good airplane and I never will and I accept that. I am only sixty six and what really bothers me is that I cannot walk down a stream and fish, risk of tripping or slipping can create a bad situation....an older woman fell into a river this spring and died while out with family here a few months ago...she was very active...but face it, when old you do slip and fall because you slow down and your feet cannot go like hell to keep you upright.

I got hurt enough in my life, I am content taking it easy, I did a lot of things in my life, let the young do that now and enjoy it....I can discuss it with them and tell them about all the stories now.

Blessed to be able to work at something I'm passionate about, creative and paid very well. Retired once, back in O8, didn't like it.

No I can't , because their are 'vaccine' requirements for travel to certain countries ruining family reunion plans.
Also, I don't see a future in which I will keep my financial sovereignty (WEF psychopaths control freaks :social credit score etc)

Make do with what you've got... You often wear your heart on your sleeve musicismagic from what I see, upping sticks is rarely easy even if it's for something you love.

I'll wear mine too for a moment. I'm early 30's and suffered from a few mental illnesses that make interaction and getting out rather difficult. So for my age my abilities are definitely wasted but to dwell wouldn't help much.

So I try gradually and progressively to build myself up till the point I can disregard my demons. ATS has been a practice ground for learning and interaction and I'm grateful for it and all it's members.

You're not young but you're out there travelling and using energy, that's a great thing. Challenge but also an adventure is a lovely way to look at things. Aspiring really. Keep well Musicismagic

Thank you.
I'm 69 and next week I'll be cycling halfway up Japan, hopefully up to Yamagata Prefecture. When I hop on the bike I feel young again, I think that is the secret of having a young feeling in our hearts.
I read your post here. There's a lot I can relate to in it. One thing I realized for me is that in life I had to take one step forward slowly and just keep pushing myself. Did it work for me, yes, after years of thinking, one day I know I'll be able to do it. That day came some time ago because I had hope and NEVER gave up to which you call " demons ".

Covid killed my grandfather, not covid itself he just gave up having life restricted from him. I can only wonder how much longer he'd be with us given the option to move. Moving seems to be a key to youth doesn't it?

I definitely second Ksihkehe too, if you feel comfortable documenting and sharing your travels. You're doing what a lot of people think isn't possible at your age, or at any age really. Sometimes it is as simple as get up and go right?

Yes, indeed.
We have to live our dream in life and hopefully we can. There are many hurdles one faces in life, yet if we look at the simplicity of life, the joy of life is truly in front of our eyes.
