Trump gets to own 2020 and his participation in it, there's no free pass.

The problem is that Trump insisted his rally numbers meant everything, when registering voters and getting voters to vote was what mattered. Someone who could now mail their ballot instead of trying to leave work early or go in late because they didn't have to drive somewhere and stand in line made a difference as well.
