I'm no EOD expert.

Explosives are not my thing. I also have not asked anyone I know who is EOD to analyze the footage.

My ordnance experience is limited to yelling "hell yeah!" or "Oh damn!" really loud after someone else sets something off. 😂

On the TimCast something interesting came up.
The explosion ironically happened right after the cameras were installed the day before or in the day before.

We all had seen that footage of the explosion of the guide stone but we didn't see anyone planting the bomb.

It’s hard to interpret, if we knew how they were constructed and erected it would give better clues as to the methodology of the person planting the explosive, and the purpose of the explosive if that makes sense, I read somewhere that there was a second bomb that didn’t detonate as well so I’m wondering if true if the second one was supposed to disrupt the foundation first then the blast we saw was to knock them b1tches down like dominoes?

I noticed that.

You would think that someone setting up an explosive would be caught on camera.

It could be that no explosive was planted, but FIRED at the monument. Brotherman mentioned that it looked like a shape charge.

One thing I do have experience with is RPGs and those are relatively easy to get all things considered. An RPG-7 would absolutely cause that level of damage but I didn't see a smoke trail.

That doesn't mean there wasn't one but I certainly didn't see it.

A shape charge isn't something typically manufactured.

When we went through our STX prior to entering the Afghan combat zone, we were taught how they make IEDs and one of them was a copper can with a thick concave copper plate and Home Made Explosives. They are powerful enough to punch through up-armored humvees rather easily and kill everyone in the vehicle.

Explosives are not difficult to make and shape charges are pretty rudimentary. Inbred Afghans with 3 thumbs can make them with minimal training.

That’s one reason I say shape charge as well, notice the target demolition was flat and not a cylinder like a concrete pillar? If it was round it would probably be more effective using a different form of charge

There's also the fact that no person has yet been seen on surveillance. That maybe due to that footage being withheld, or that it simply doesn't exist. Pre-planted explosives could be it, or as said earlier, an RPG or something similar.

If we’re going there, then why not a mortar from afar and that car was the fo? The angle of footage makes it difficult if not impossible to capture a falling object.

In this video you can see the blast pushing through the stone. This could be indicative of both a shape charge and an RPG. I've seen RPGs doing this as well as shape charges.

There is also a vehicle driving away. Whoever it was, they didn't remain on premises long.

That's a possibility, but there would be a crater.

If it was a mortar team they'd still have to walk it in. Most mortars aren't that accurate and the blast appears to be horizontally oriented.
