His words are not being twisted, they are pretty plain to anyone that is capable of understanding English.

His sacrifice, and that of others mean nothing to many so called Americans. Fourth of July is just another vacation day for many, and the same patriot that said those words is looked on as a domestic terrorist for saying them.

No need to twist anything here, his words are pretty clear. The concept that was America Is being torn apart.

1 day for independence, 1 month for gay pride. Do the math, it’s your new reality. America is dying.

Happy Fourth of July, whatever that means.

Seems everyone says, "Happy 4th (of July)" . Don't see too many, if anyone say, "Happy Independence Day". There's a big difference, if you ask me. They're trying to turn it into "Happy Dependence Day"

This isn't the land of the free and home of the brave anymore. It's a country that's being prepped for a new world order. A new liberal world according to the white house. A 4th industrial revolution where your services are no longer required and neither are you as a person. We can forget our culture and history. We can forget the foundations on which our country was build on. We can forget those who fought for some sort of idea.

The days of fighting for that are gone. On this July 4th there isn't much to celebrate. Perhaps we need to wake up and remember our history and what made us who we are. Do not allow the technocrats totalitarian take over and to replace freedom with bug meat burgers, mandatory experimental vaccines, digital IDs, 24/7 surveillance, red flag laws, the loss of basic freedoms through censorship and the loss of the collective culture of a country

Where did you get all this garbage from, did you even read the story, nothing like that was even said.

I have a lifelong interest in military history, particularly the U.S. Civil War, WW1, WW2 and Vietnam. But I oppose viewing historical events and the WW2 generation dying out with uncritical eyes. But, of course, the U.S. is a different country in 2022 than in 1945. The Civil, LGBT, and Women's Rights movements and other social changes are products of the post-war era.

I have the utmost respect for the sacrifices made by the WW2 generation who participated in the global struggle to defeat the Axis powers. But I disagree with the "Greatest Generation" concept that appeared over the last 10 - 15 years.

Either you enjoy being naive, ignorant or are just trolling because you took what he said in a direction he didn't intend. Shame on you.

Based on the article, which you didn't bother to read, his opinions were more towards the morals, ethics and overall character of our fellow man. It's more common now versus during his time for people to willfully steal and loot, lie and cheat to avoid having to get a job and earn a living. There was a certain level of self-respect one had to earn a dollar rather than sit around and collect unemployment (which was only designed to be a quick-fix, not a lifestyle).

You don't see the same respect paid to LEO's, those in authority and to parents, family isn't the primary focus for so many. Instant money, fame and keeping up with the Jones' are glorified and sought after now, not working hard and raising a family. Criminals and illegal aliens are treated better than most veterans. Sex is accepted at almost every age and the protection provided to children from predators is quickly vanishing to the approval of too many.

No, we've lost our morals and direction as a country.

You can think he meant that cars going vroom and women voting are what's bothering him, that's your right that he fought to provide you, but that would also make you part of the problem he's pointing out.

Yes, we are not the Country we used to be.

We have cars, don't have slaves, women can vote, gays are out, the internet is everywhere, we've been to the moon, we have airplanes, we have solar power, and so on, and so on.

Change IS life, life IS change. It's just some like it, and some don't.

Every time I hear the term, "The Good Old Days", I always ask myself, Good old days for who?

I'm not sure people understand how bad they DON'T have it.

SMH I'm pretty sure this and many other veterans aren't talking about modern conveniences and technological advancements but rather the moral standard of being an American. Of course I wouldn't expect you to understand that though seeing the way you react and comment to people's posts on here.

Instead wake up from your mass formation and remember who you are.

"Nowadays... People don’t realize what they have, the things we fought for, and the boys that died for it - It’s all gone down the drain."

"Our country’s gone to hell in a handbasket. We haven’t got the country we had when I was raised. Not at all."

“It’s not the same. That’s not what our boys - that‘s not what they died for.”

Wow, talk about twisting his words.... he never mentioned anything about a new world order, a new liberal world, a fourth industrial revolution, etc... you are trying to forward your personal agenda on to this honorable veteran. Disgusting.

I quoted what he said and then gave my opinion.

That's what you do here when you make a thread. You quote the source and give your opinion.

I was just talking to a family member about that. Her husband passed away and he was a vet. I said, I missed him but part of me was greatful that he did not have to see this country fall apart. From fighting in Vietnam. Because that is exactly what he would say.

He risked his life, faced a tiger that attacked him he was pinned down and managed to kill it before it killed him, kids with bombs strapped to their chest all to protect this country.

Only to come back and be spit on by the people. But even all of that.. he would share his stories, and I think watching America turn into cluster of crap would of killed him and his spirit more.

This guy was/is amazing, he jumped a Fence and saved an Africians woman who's boyfriend was stabbing her stomaching trying to kill her baby in broad daylight.

Even though he grew up in different times, there wasn't a drop of racism in his blood. My cousin's are both Korean and even after everything in Vietnam he still showed them love.

It's really sad to lose people like that. Sadly the Vietnam vets were probably the most humbled and tramatized of them all. My heart goes out to every vet that remains in the US.

Many of us, are not like what you see on TV have faith in humanity. We will find out way again.

It's true, today's kids are war hungry to the point it's manic as they want to talk and brag about kill counts. Also from what I have heard military ranking no longer means crap as no respect is given to the higher ups.

Hell, he is right.

This is not the same country as it was even in the 80's and 90's.

It is a damned shame what our nation has and is turning into. Not much of a plus side other than Christ is coming much faster than we expected. I cannot imagine what our nation will look like in 10 years if we even have that much longer.

I mourn the loss of our nation and what is to come.
Why did not Christ return during the years 1914-1946 ..? Those 30 years sure were hell on Earth
Dust bowl , Spanish flu , Great Depression, WW1 & WW2 .
Why is it always Jesus is coming to punish & judge with your types ?
Just as strange as 2022 is to a 100 year old , so was 1930’s culture to a man born in 1870 .
We as a world are way more peaceful & even with abortion, there are less kids who die from wars & starvation.
Quit thinking that your time is the most evil , because that just serves your ego . All you evangelicals cant wait for hellfire & brimstone, because it is revenge you want through opposition to all who are not like you .

There are nearly 600 people rotting in prison for protesting their own government.

That is EXACTLY what that 100 year old veteran is talking about.

That's just 1 example.

1619 is another God Damn Example.

The 21st century hasn't changed for the better.

Anyone saying it has is lying their # off.

I'm sure if that happened then he would have happily shot them all in the face.

Yeah, one's life is a time machine of sorts.

What you mentioned is why I call the past in which I was young, "The Lost World". It is gone and not coming back. I'm relieved that the end (for me) is nearing because I don't care for where I see the current social trajectory going.

Cheers
