So obvious to everyone (except a few dimheads) here , the last few years have been extra stressful and anxiety provoking.
I already have anxiety/depression tendencies, just one thing leading to another, and escalating from there, it's a vicious cycle.

So not only that, my one main coping method(vaping) is under constant threat, so more stress from that.
Life also is handing out stress pile upon stress pile, take care of one task and another replaces it , you know how that goes.

I tried meditation , but I lack patience. same with learning to play an instrument, tried several times , but lack patience , probably due to all my anxiety and life worries.
I know some things that would help , but those methods are inaccessible.

hmm, maybe I should return to running, used to love that runner's high

Walking helps a bit , but I have a bad sunburn atm, so I've been hiding indoors

Other that alcohol, and smoking, what else is there?
Food off course , but I'm even lacking much interests in that.

Well talking here helps (as long as some posters stay out of this thread

I don't have any answers, sadly. I've been sequestered at home for 2 1/2 years now, and if it wasn't for my quilting passion I'd be in dire straights right now. Even then, I sometimes start to feel down, but I know how bad that road can be if I let it progress, so I have to consciously make the effort to focus on all the good things I still have in my life- not what is lost.

Seeking is always the first step to finding answers, and I wish you much success in finding what works for you!

Other than the 2 vices you mentioned (which I don't recommend, but struggle with, almost on the daily myself), I've been taking short strolls during the day when I'm feeling the "pressure cooker" feeling as I call it (or just need a healthier escape).

There's a small farm down the street (more of a hobby farm), and I always guess whether I'll see these enormous rams (sheep maybe? Not entirely sure). Also apple trees, beautiful flowers, and sometimes the owners (I assume) are tending to the chores.

Anyway, that's one thing I've more recently implemented - on weekends I've been doing walks/jogs, going through this nature trail that is away from the neighborhoods/main roads. I do think simply unplugging and being in nature has been helping me.

I can relate, my sister pulled up a picture from 7 years ago and it seemed like 15. Have you tried CBD? my sister swears by it and I've just started using and it seems to help me a lot. She gets Charlotte's Web brand and takes it as a daily tincture but they have vape as well. It's not overwhelming at all it just takes the edge off. Used with other methods it's effective.

Thank you
just getting a nice reply is helping me feel less alone and just helps to feel a bit of a connection.
My mom used to make the most beautiful quilts

But she lost that passion decades ago ,sadly.

Yes, I must definitely go for a walk tomorrow. Though sadly in a paved area, no nature nearby.
I miss the old forests in Europe , I always felt safe roaming those, unlike here in the US

Drinking chamomile tea can help with relaxation, its not bad iced either.
Completely non toxic and no side effects.

If you have access to fresh lavender that is also a wonderful breath of fresh
air, and a drop in a bath does wonders.

I know what you mean with things feeling like an eternity ago , mostly when I feel nostalgic

I know some vape shops also sell CBD oil, but for the moment I haven't tried that yet.
Probably not a good idea right now, maybe if the restrictions stop at some point , and could see what's left of the vaping industry , if anything at all.
Not feeling very optimistic atm, sorry

Ahh Lavender. My parents had a huge bunch of it ,growing up while I was a child, in the front yard.
I loved it so much, the smell and the colors . Sadly, I haven't seen it for sale much around here, I would have to buy seeds .

I feel blessed to live in a progressive state where CBD/THC dispensaries are legal and available and growing your own in your garden is also legal. Stress is a killer and will make you sicker than any covid but their is a solution if you want to use it.

HST is a bit extreme but it's so nice to come home from a very stressful project and put on the headphones eat a gummy bear, and play games, listen to music and go to bed and sleep without that negative "internal" voice disturbing a peaceful, restful sleep that keeps you healthy both physically and emotionally. Wake up refreshed and excited to face the challenges and excitement of a new day.

No need for apologies, I'm enjoying the discussion, all I know is earlier today my blood pressure spiked a bit and a hit from the CBD knocked it down.

CBD isn't going anywhere, depending on your state, there will still be tinctures, oils, and gummies. You need to research it, it's not gonna hurt anything and you will know fairly quickly, you sound very intuned to your body.

I don't think starting a new drug is a good idea, however tempting it may be.
I just would be happy if the greedy government kept their paws of the vaping industry. There are also CBD juices available for vaping, which I would sooner try than actual weed. But thanks for the suggestion

One thing is to appreciate what you got.

People call life stressful but when you look back at history, it would have been a miracle for any human being to make it into their 30's.

Obviously you have internet access while currently there are millions of humans without access to clean water.

Think of it as an empathetic form of Schadenfreude.

Life may suck, but at least you're not that guy.

There are many alternatives besides CBD that aren't weed. All available in edible, tincture, vape, flower etc. all legal and available on line.

However I know some people view suffering as some sort of Holy penance. imo that's BS.

Um, no I just wouldn't want to smoke weed, as the smell is overpowering (no holy anything). The vaping industry is facing heavy regulations , atm, so I'm unsure how long CBD vaping will remain available. I'd hate to love it as well, and than that too disappears
I could look into it at least , the other options

It's changing slowly, I'm not trying to convert anybody, but I'm also one that I'll try just about anything for the chronic pain I've had for years. I've probably taken enough Tylenol to destroy my liver over the years, a few tokes aren't gonna kill me now.

Probably not a good idea right now, maybe if the restrictions stop at some point , and could see what's left of the vaping industry , if anything at all.
Not feeling very optimistic atm, sorry

No need for apologies, I'm enjoying the discussion, all I know is earlier today my blood pressure spiked a bit and a hit from the CBD knocked it down.

CBD isn't going anywhere, depending on your state, there will still be tinctures, oils, and gummies. You need to research it, it's not gonna hurt anything and you will know fairly quickly, you sound very intuned to your body.

Ok that sounds good. What about CBD vaping ?
I've bookmarked a site with CBD gummies, tinctures etc

One other thing my sister uses is a Gabapentin blend and they also work well, for on-the-spot relief. She gets hers from a local health store and it calms me down pretty much immediately and I'm a big guy.

CBD vape is fairly inexpensive Im on a strict budget and a month's supply is cheap
