I saw my first UFO in 1994 and last one in 2017 and about 20-30 totally convincing sightings in between.

I had three sightings on the same days I used ATS to discuss UFOs and that led me to believe that discussing UFOs on ATS increases your chances of an authentic sighting.

Seen several, mostly in remote places in central Australia. Weird objects in clear night skies. Not Sats. One was meters off the ground.

Now on the east coast. Was surprised to see the same flying object on 2 occasions late afternoon some years back.

Nothing of late though but do look at the night sky on those clear nights.

Kind regards,

Bally

Our car was followed by something in AZ as a child - many people saw it also found out when we came to the next town. "A light" came close in Illinois when we moved to IL. Saw orange orbs one particular year in Illinois (like the current news in San Diego). They came the same time every night for 3 days and would appear and reappear all over the sky and play "leapfrog". Most all of what I have ever seen was mostly the glowing orange orbs, and a couple just bright light orbs. One time I saw a black triangle craft with three lights go right over my driveway not too high in the sky.

Two white type ufo orbs dancing / having fun

One white type ufo orb straight flight overhead maybe 20 feet

Lots of lights appearing in forest area very lit up no other lights around

Disc landing in field steps came down

Fleet of rhombus shaped ships about the size of two double decker buses on their sides, looked constructed of metal, no windows but lights on them, travelling in a snake like line, when one went left the one following went right, also they sort of tilted as if on a pendulum as they moved forward. Fifty feet above

Another disc, this time just hovered then took off

Pair of amber orange type ufo orbs, twenty minutes to coax them towards us with a flash light, one then morphed into the shape of a body builders dumbell, then an angle grinder white type ufo orb appeared behind us lots of molten metal and sparks coming from it which then changed into a radiant whiter than white angel type ufo orb, drifted about a foot from our faces, following my friend yelled WTF and looked up to see around twenty four pairs of same coloured type ufo orbs, yellows, reds, greens, whites, pinks, etc, then a red type appeared to the left of the circle this had a laser beam scanning device searching the ground like crazy, then a roar like an elephant happened and from the horizon a massive radiant white slab of light mothership zipped towards us circling us four times and as it roared off crop sprayed us with something like candy floss, later we were told this is G-ds food Manna being dropped to Earth

Five days later a white type ufo orb followed us then masses or amber orange types one side of a field and masses of white types a bit further over. Weird thing is they were kind of clustering into something like a corn on the cob.

You're very lucky, I would love to witness/experience anything remotely like that.
Where did these things happen?

Over the years I've spent quite a bit of time star gazing etc. I've seen a few 'shooting stars', comets, ISS, strange lights that soon became clear were just lights from airplanes etc.
But nothing I could describe as a UFO.

I've promised my Grandson that during the summer holidays we'll spend a couple of nights camping out up on the moors UFO hunting.
Apparently there's also a place at Kielder where its supposed to be relatively common to 'see' things in the night sky.

You need to get on a ley line FB. More importantly a place where lines meet. Arbor Low in the north Derbyshire Dales is an excellent place as many energy lines meet there. Some consider it the apex of the triangle ley line system that has been laid over the UK. On a personal basis I gave up as these events can be be a little hairy, close contact is something. Not sure your grandchild would appreciate a CE but who knows. He might love it
Just saying as we are all men / women and have our confidence in the face of adventure, yet when a CE actually does happen it can make someone even like Tyson Fury freeze solid with the only movement being their knees shaking like crazy, followed by a WTF from the lips and no eye movement whatsoever bar the permanent focus on the sight before you.

Think heard of Kielder............ The dam. Great grandad was jarrow man from Easington went the NE when a kid but wouldn't know Kielder. Water places excellent for UFO hunting. There was a place up that way that we went to once, I think it was called Todmorden. Sort of on thee way to the NE but Yorkshire quite high up. There are books on it by an ex Copper. It's meant to be pretty mental. We actually went on a recce up there in the 90's, after about a dozen pints we made it to the campsite, only to find the guy carrying the poles and pegs had lost them
and ended up bivvying under a pub bench taking turns to blast ciggie smoke out of the crumpled canvas to see off a multitude of midges or something like that. Never made it to the the search for spaceships that night

I've had one amazing sighting of a flying egg relatively close and in broad daylight...

I have since seen several videos online of the same thing....

A perfectly white, seamless egg, or tic-tac shaped craft gliding silently in the daytime sky....

I'm so glad I've seen one, and all the recent videos and talks of UAPs help me realize what I saw was legit.

I posted about it here on ATS a long time ago...

I cannot find the thread anymore in my profile which is Kind of weird and unfortunate

To be honest I'd never considered that it might be a bit 'hairy'.....maybe I should wait till he's a bit older.

I'd love a 'Close Encounter' even though I imagine it could get the adrenaline pumping a bit.

I have a mate who used to go UFO hunting a bit, he's never related any really 'Close Encounters', just a few strange lights in the night sky.

I understand the theory behind ley lines but to be honest I don't know that much about them or where there are any in the North East.
I have an open mind about such things but no hard held beliefs.

About a year or so after the role out of the F-117 stealth I was driving home at night. I looked over in a field and there was something hovering. I lived 2 hours from a military base so seeing planes and helicopters was no big deal. It was a country road late at night so I just stopped to look. Probably about a 100 yards away I saw the silhouette of a craft with white lights that looked just like the stealth. I watched for about 5 minutes and thought to my self that it was pretty cool to see a stealth hovering like a helicopter. I thought it was just a capability that they hadn’t disclosed at the time. I just drove off and thought it would be pretty cool that I knew it had this capability before they disclosed it.

They never said anything about it and as time went by I realized it was a UFO I had seen. And to top it off it was over a cow pasture probably only 20 feet off the ground making no noise whatsoever.

You asked for stats, so here's a few.

America accounted for almost half of all UFO reports in the U* UFO Database compiled by Larry Hatch.

This is despite America making up around 1.9% of the surface of the Earth and around 6.5% of the landmass.

I've also done some of my own research, and almost 80% of reports of 'alien abductions' come from America. If you add in the rest of the major English speaking nations (Australia, Britain, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand) that rises to over 90%. A number of reports from elsewhere were even made by natives of the Anglo nations while abroad!!!

Whatever the individual reason behind those reports, there appears to be a cultural predisposition at work.

You could be onto something there.

UK & Ireland with 6.54% of all reported sightings despite being 0.01% of the earths landmass and 0.9% of the total world population.

Any theories why this might be so?

I'd guess the main reasons are (besides English speakers being hopeless at identifying flying objects very well '
'

i) English speakers tend to source information from English literature. So there's an obvious bias towards the language. Then to a lesser degree the dominant European languages. I think the unusually large number of UFO reports from France is the volume of UFO literature penned by Jacques Vallee in English.

ii) America has long had groups like MUFON, CUFOS etc; Providing an awareness of UFO sightings and the ability to report them outside of law enforcement and military agencies.

iii) MIlitary power - The Anglo nations are all close allies. A lot of military and space tech gets mistaken for UFOs. The military are happy to keep it that way when it suits them.

iv) The influence of sci-fi. Star Wars, Star Trek and Dr. Who plus in more modern times TV programming like Ancient Aliens and other UFO based series. Also the internet over the past two decades.

Another anomaly is that India (which has a large English speaking population) has hardly any reports of cattle mutilation.

I've got a long way to go looking into the 'abduction' reports before I can speculate. Although people might be slightly surprised at some raw stats. But you will have to wait a while for that. There's only so much spare time available.

I had a 'triangle' sighting I shared years ago here, seen the odd or and burn out star too... A lot more of those the last few years, basically a stationary star that flares up pretty bright then dies out over about 3-5 seconds, a lot brighter than a satellite.

I've seen something move a bit like a boomerang atleast it was moving that fast this was how my eyes perceived it, it took a split second to move across the sky and I near crapped myself.

At a BBQ me and several people watched 3 elongated disk/tube shaped lights follow each other across the sky and seemingly disappear behind an invisible wall, this was repeated two more times further along the horizon... Like some weird glitch in the matrix, I don't know what it was and I don't care frankly because it's my shared experience and my ego needed to know I'm not totally nuts. Haha.

Some of the more bigger ones I remember.

I remember talking about Freeborn John so I figure on the Wear somewhere... Hills and waterways would be considered holy if you want to get into local folklore stuff. Or if it's nuts and bolts you'd want to get into there's a few sight seeing opportunities if you can travel.

Local astronomy clubs know the good stargazing spots too. The NE has a few hotspots, my dad has some crazy stories from whitburn/Gateshead way.

Regarding the ley lines same here FB, not really up on the technical side so something defo to look into.

UFOs seem to use them. Also I get the idea the whole spectrum of the supernatural might be connected with them. Spirits maybe use them too. I lived in a house in Derby on a ley line and that also turned out to be a little hairy to say the least. The Dutch call them totweg or something similar think it translates as dead roads, the Irish have their fairy roads, the Chinese have their feng sway, we have our ley lines. Far eastern house builders avoid certain lines. Defo need to research them it just time and the energy to do it. They seem to appear in many cultures / regions around the Planet.

Dowsing can find the lines. They are pretty much everywhere so guess you can find some in the locality.

This map shows a line running somewhere close FB, a major line too by the look of things. Passes directly south through Arbor Low too, my main site for CE back in the day, yet a lifetime ago in many ways.

Didn't you know the U.S. has an agreement with the
"Galactic Confederation" so naturally we have more sightings !
