Side note: it is morbidity funny to my sick mind that the one guy was holding up his briefcase to try to stop bullets.
It could have a steel or ceramic plate inside to use in this exact event.

Japanese police say former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo died from loss of blood after a bullet damaged an artery under his collarbone.
Police carried out an autopsy on Abe's body through early Saturday.
They say the bullet went through Abe's upper left arm and damaged a blood vessel under his collarbone.
The police say the attacker fired a gun from close range, apparently with the intent to kill.
Abe was fatally shot on Friday morning as he was making a stump speech near a railway station in the western city of Nara.
Police arrested the 41-year-old suspect, Yamagami Tetsuya, on the spot.
The unemployed man, a resident of Nara, told police he held a grudge against a certain organization, and believed Abe was connected with it.
The suspect is quoted as saying his grudge is not connected to Abe's political beliefs.
Police say the gun used in the attack was self-made, and measured about 40 centimeters in length. They say they seized several more guns with similar features from the suspect's home.
Police say the attack was likely well planned.
This is interesting since it gives as a reason for the assassination the fact that Abe was connected with some un-named organization. I wonder what that group is?
During the interrogation, Yamagami has also begun motivational statements.
According to the police, he said in response to the investigation so far, "I had a grudge against a particular religious group, and I thought that former Prime Minister Abe had a close relationship with this group."
Also, according to the investigators, he is talking about this religious group to the effect that "the mother was absorbed in the group and made a large donation, and the family life was messed up."
According to an interview with an investigative official, he stated in a subsequent investigation that he had originally tried to kill an executive of this religious group, but could not, so he decided to shoot the former Prime Minister with a gun. I understand.

In 2021, Donald Trump and Shinzo Abe gave speeches praising Unification Church in its event named Rally of Hope. Unification Church has ties with Kishi Nobusuke, Abe's grandfather and former prime minister, and Abe Shintaro, Abe's father and former foreign minister.
SECDEF Austin Orders Navy Red Hill Fuel Depot Permanently Closed (Mar 7, 2022)
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered the massive Red Hill Fuel Depot shuttered and abandoned, a reversal from the Pentagon’s attempt to appeal a Hawaii order to close the World War II-era compound, the Pentagon announced on Monday.
“By no later than May 31, 2022, the Secretary of the Navy and Director, [Defense Logistics Agency] will provide me with a plan of action with milestones to defuel the facility. The plan of action shall require that defueling operations commence as soon as practicable after the facility is deemed safe for defueling and target the completion of that defueling within 12 months,” reads a Monday memo from Austin.

The Navy commander of a joint military base in Hawaii where thousands were poisoned by water contaminated during a massive fuel leak was recently awarded the Legion of Merit upon retirement.
Capt. Erik Spitzer, formerly the commander of Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, was relieved of command on June 14 by Capt. Mark Sohaney, according to photos released by the Navy. Spitzer was criticized in the midst of the water crisis for providing conflicting guidance that residents’ water was safe in the days after the fuel leak. But during the change of command ceremony, Spitzer was awarded the Legion of Merit Award, which is awarded to service members “for exceptionally outstanding conduct in the performance of meritorious service to the United States.” His award citation praised his response to the leak at the Red Hill fuel storage facility and says his role led to the “expeditious restoration of clean water.”
