A true story
As a kid my Dad's shop had a guy bring in a Cadillac with a unique device that he claimed was getting over 100 mpg. He allowed my Dad's head Mechanic study it for a few hours but we were not dialed in and he wasn't given us the specs. However, it triggered a lot of experimentation at our shop.
