What is the world coming to? A mother tried to stop her 14 year old daughter from getting an abortion and the clinic not only had her arrested, they kept her from her child and told the girl the records would be buried.

Here's the link:

www.illinoisleader.com...

If it had been my daughter the police would have been so busy trying to stop me from shooting the person who had gotten her pregnant they wouldn't have had time to arrest the mother.

Is the right to an abortion so guarenteed now that even the parents of a 14 year old must be kept out of the situation?

This is without a doubt a conspiricy against parental rights.

What are your thoughts?

Oh boy..this story just adds to the acrimony of recent events.

Anybody smell conspiracy?

I think minors have to be under the supervision of parents, or be willing to take responsibility for their actions. Right now, minors have many of the rights of adults, and few of the responsibilities, and I think that's dangerous.

Children are either wards of their parents until 18, or they're not. We can't keep extending the middle ground on this one, or soon we'll find out all our children are wards of the state.

I agree that the mother should file charges specially if the man that father the child is older, 14 years old didn't trust her mother, because is look that she didn't inform her mother of her pregnancy, and I wonder if she knew that the child was even dating a man.

This story have to many questions that need to be answer but If I was the mother I would be outrage.

Now taking in consideration that a "ministry" was involved I wonder how much of this is actually propaganda.

what about shooting the little tramp who can't keep her legs closed? why shoot the guy who knocked her up? she's just as much to blame as he is.

It's really sad that the world's coming to this, when a 14 year old can make a decision on her own that some adults can't even make alone... this girl will regret this later in life.

To the mother, that's horrible. Arrested for taking an interest in her daughter's affairs. (That's all it looks like to me.) Why does it have to be this way? Americans don't get to raise their own children anymore. It's very sad.

Legal action should be taken by the people that arrested her, and the doctor that performed the operation. Nothing a good lawyer can't fix. Against the doctor since parental consent is mandatory for minors under the age of 18.

This also constitutes as rape, since a 14 year old boy does not have the ability to acquire an erection. wow the situation gets really complicated.

From all the data, the only the only conclusion is that the mothers a slut, and the daughters a slut wannabe.

Well perhaps the mother no finding out that the child was with child may prompt charges of child neglect.

I think is more to this story that we don't know.

I think you should refresh your knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I don't want to discuss the subject at any length, because this simply isn't the place for it.

14 is definitely not an impossible erection age.

Er, I've been getting erections since about 13 or so.

I agree, she is just as much to blame as he is, unless it was a rape of course. Girls can say no, belive it I've had it happen to me, and I've always respected that decision. (Well.. I may not give up immidiately, but if the girl lets me well... then its my choice as much as hers)

Excellant point. I suppose if I was Muslim I would shoot the little tramp. I'm not Muslim though.

I suppose there is a double standard here. My son lost his virginity when he was 14. I wasn't upset at all. I was almost proud, I lost my virginity at 15.

Still, as a parent of two girls, I feel that if either of them had ended up pregnant at 14 I should have at least had a say in the situation. As is my girls are both adults and I keep badgering them about when the heck am I going to get a grandchild?

This is still a disturbing situation though.

Love and light,

My grandmother had my mother when she was 14 and she was a married women and a widow all in one year.

hey my grandmother had my mother at 14 and in that year she was a married woman and a widow all in the matter of a year span.

On todays society this is seem as outrageous and immoral, but in other times thats the way it used to be.

Perhaps if the mother had been this involved in her childs life a few months ago then perhaps she would not have to deal with her daughter having an abortion at such an early age, perhaps she would of never gotten pregnant.

No matter waht way you cut it, something is definitely wrong in the parenting department when a child ends up pregnant at 14, and chooses to have an abortion.

Besides the mother is not the one stuck with this child, it is the daughter who will have to raise it, and obviously she does not want to. She made a chioce, and hopefully she can live with it.

Seems like a great day for childrens rights to me.
