I bought an item online, I had to use click and collect to pick the item up from a loading dock.

When I got there I had to check in and use a link to say I am here, and share my location with Harvey Norman.

I called the store and said I am st the dock to collect and gave the order number.

When the staff person bought the item, she asked for I’d though did not photograph of record it.

She then said I need to take a photo of your car and rego plate. I said no, you cannot.

They didn’t, though I am sick of the data mining that is going on.

Cash is still king!

I got hurt at work last week, I got stabbed in my eye through my safety glasses. I went to the hospital ER because that’s all that’s available for me working nights. They had to make a workman comp insurance claim but required my info. Ever since I signed release info about me to get care I’ve been non stop getting calls about buying supplemental insurance and just in case funds and all kinds of other bull# I must’ve had 14 of these calls to my personal phone in less then 8 days and that’s not even including the mail being sent to my home with similar non semsical bs.

Yeah man # em all but the last 6!

I hope your eyes are fine, and don’t suffer any damage. Sadly it appears every human is a commodity to big business.

I'm not entirely sure what the game is or the rules, but I'm pretty sure "stabbed in the eye" beats "got my data collected" every time.

Hope you're healing up.

My eye is fine. I got a fast flying piece of metal that was able to get around my company provided eye protection and hurt like a bastard but the glasses stopped it enough to only have me suffer a minor abrasion. That wasn't the issue I was saying, I am required to do the paper work and sign off on sharing my personal information with the hospital, within a day I have had my life invaded by all kinds of stupid #

I am greatful for my company providing me with eye pro and am blessed I didn't get #'ed really hard.

Oh I know. I get routine deliveries of crap I never asked for translated into languages I'll never be able to read. God knows where they get all the data, but they get it. My mother has been dead two years and I never owned her house and I still get text messages about her address from realtors. It has at least one owner since.

I wonder if there are companies that do targeted scraping of data for different industries. The thing with my mother's house is baffling to me. Different last names even. I don't see the path from a county property tax record on the other side of the country to my cell phone number.

Into the bin they go. I'm to the point that if there isn't a bill, a check, or a summons, I don't pay attention.

I gave my phone number to the Wal-Mart Vision Center so they could call me and tell me when my contacts had arrived. It was a fairly new phone at the time, and not many people had the number. After giving it to Wal-Mart, I started getting random texts and a spam calls. Could've just been a coincidence, but.....

That's okay; I've been living in my house for a year and a half now. I am still getting letters about the land that I own, and willing to pay cash. Not happening; I'm living on it. Even if I had land I was interested in selling; it wouldn't be to a company looking for investment properties.

I can top all your stories.

The year was 2004, my husband bought opera tickets in Chicago for me.
They were great seats and expensive.

We must have been put in some kind of category because almost 20 years later and many many move they still send us crap. I think at this point they have spend an equal amount in advertisements as he did on those tickets!

you said in chicago, maybe they were banking on you drinking the house kool aide? I'm guessing you and your mans are the sugar free type. I'm the same way, I usually bring my own whiskey, if I have to wear a suit I make my wimmins put that # in her purse
