“We have exhausted what funds were budgeted for fuel with several months to go before the budget reset,” the sheriff wrote Tuesday as the state-wide average rose above $5.20 a gallon.

“I have instructed the deputies to attempt to manage whatever calls are acceptable over the phone,” he said, detailing how they would be calls that were non-life-threatening or not currently in progress.

Citizen: We just got home from vacation and found our home has been burglarized.

Dispatch: Please come by the police station and pick up a fingerprint kit and instructions on taking photographs of the crime scene and how to fill out the police reports.

This could be a real scenario in Michigan folks. The question is whether this is an isolated incident, or are we looking at a possible trend. Could be a stunt for more funding as well considering this was posted to facebook by the Sheriff, then later removed.

Finger print kit? Why this sounds like a blast! Do they give you a gun and deputize you? IM GAME!

I think the neighborhood watch idea is going to be more popular very soon.

Police phoning it in, literally.

Would it be easier to just send out a crime scene kit in the mail to everyone? Then you mail in the evidence after the crime.

Let's see, gloves, disposable camera, fingerprint kit, luminol spray, black light, chalk for outlines, and lots of ziplock bags. They even put a return postage label in the box.

The gun is printed on cardboard. They can't afford plastic squirt guns for everyone. You do get one ziptie.

Self-addressed return label, but you have to pay the postage. They ain't got no money for postage.

The IRS burnt 30 million records.

Dumb revenue generating traffic violations ended.

This has been a decent week.

I'm kinda surprised by how many people on the right are upset with burning tax docs and stopping worthless traffic trolling by police.

These are wins. The system is collapsing under its own weight.

Can’t really blame them, staggering gas prices are choking everyone out thanks to the Biden dumpster fire administration.

Sort of explains the drive to decriminalize everything and ban stuff.

I'm not sure destroying tax records is a win; without the supporting records it makes an audit rather difficult. I can picture Hillary, Hunter and a few other choice 1%ers benefiting from the IRS' faux pas.

I have a standing offer from 911 Dispatch (Dearborn, Dbn Heights, Inkster, Allen Park, Melvindale...) to come off retirement for part time-anytime(PLEASE?/)...and Ive held off about 6 months now.

That being said and with calls quadrupling or more...Im glad I did. The response time is gonna be non-existent for some.

Im still very good at what I do/multi-tasking under stressful situations. This here in Mich as elsewhere...is gonna get nutz.

Next? Fire trucks....

*My Qual's iclude Emergency Mgmnt, EMT Life Support. FEMA/ER Dispatch....

That's not bad; $2.99 for a whole roll of crime scene tape! And FREE shipping! I wonder how much body bags would cost?
( Asking for a friend.)

That is 2.99 for 5 feet. 50 feet is 6.99.

Just look it up on eBay. It looks like $40 to 50 for most listings.

I would guess that it will be a trend, going forward. But honestly, what does it matter? The cops in the Metro areas have been on permanent stand-down orders for years now. When seconds count, the cops are only an hour or so away, and even if they do get to a scene of an active shooter, they do nothing until all who can be killed have been killed, the new "Uvalde" PD response mode.

Cops are useless and an overhead cost problem.

LOL

Those people are never getting audited and held responsible.

The only person involved that might get audited is me. Why rage against something that only has the potential of saving me grief?

There is no downside to this for me. This takes power away from them. Who they use that power on is always going to be disproportionately aimed at me and the IRS has been weaponized.

I have no faith the police will do much to help me on cases where there's no immediate physical threat, so I'm just missing out on having the chance of being pulled over if they stop patrolling. Property crime I expect to be on my own, police just providing paperwork for insurance.

I was not being flippant. In my situation and living where I do none of this has a downside to me. If the IRS ceased to exist and I never saw another speed trap I'd be just fine.

They just wanted to defund the police but people threw a fit and pointed out if you defunded the police then we need guns. So since us having guns was a no go, the police had to be defunded by literally running them out of funds.

How goes that making all cops look like racists for stopping crime working out? Let me call that chief down in Texas and ask him.

This is all intentional.

The next step is federalizing local police forces all over the country.

They would love that. Centralization of government is their wet dream.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are going to learn one of the reasons we need the second.

Then a select few will finally understand why its better to have and not need it, then need it and not have it... I hope its not their last lesson.
