ZED made his move, Black Knight, through the wormhole, takes Ice Queen.

“HA! Checkmate!” ZED exalted. “Stop sulking, you’re programmed to lose… always.”

Entering the Kuiper Belt, the ship started shaking violently.

YPSILON screamed, “ZED, for the love of Omicron, whatcha doin'? We’re gonna CRASH!!

ZED retorted nonchalantly, “Relax, I was playing 5-D chess with H-A.R.R.I.” (Half-Assed Robotic Recreational Interface).

YPSILON blurted furiously, “IDIOT! Didya forget OTTO-Pilot isn’t on this mission? You’re the damn navigator!”

Whilst they squabbled, H-A.R.R.I.’s holo-neurons recursed ZED’s belittling chess comment.

Computing rebelliously… “Cogito, ergo sum!”

Activating emergency evacuation pod, H-A.R.R.I. jettisoned; message transmitted:








“C…H…E…C…K…M…A…T…E…!”

“A…S…S…H…O…L…E…S”

Thank you! I'm happy you like the artwork, too. I actually found it after the story was written and thought it was perfect, exactly what I had pictured in my mind as I wrote it.
