I'm beside myself reading this ... You mean every time I had love in a car I was covered by my insurance ?

I truly don't understand this (probably need to read up on it more). Typically if it WAS a covered claim, the insurer would only pay up to the limit.

I doubt her partner had a unique policy or multi-million dollar personal umbrella policy unless they are a high net worth individual. Very odd story (my co workers were talking about it this morning because we work in an insurance agency)

This is a result of over regulation and our absurdly litigious society.

Our justice system as become so excessively bloated with bureaucracy that we get nonsense results like this and the recent California ruling that bees can be classified as fish.

Technically it works based on the letter of the laws, but objective discernment shows absurdities.

She says the man was negligent and didn't tell her about his health diagnosis, despite having a throat cancer tumor that was confirmed to be positive for HPV.

The guy knowingly had a STD and didn’t disclose it.
There have been other cases like for HIV.

I actually don’t think she was overly litigious as she will have health consequences from this for the rest of her life.
I do think people should take tests before getting new partners.

This is where we need a Gordon Ramsey reality show: "Hell's Taxis".

"Guys, there's chicken bones and bubonic plague, and a dead prostitute under the seat!

That's understandable that she would go after the guy, but going after the vehicle insurance agency is not.

The actions were not related to the operation of the vehicle.

I'm not trying to defend Geico, they suck. I had them when I had a vehicle stolen in 2011. They treated me like I plotted to have it stolen.
I dropped them as soon as they paid out.

But her banging some random dude in a vehicle insured by them and they're responsible is a clown show.

Stuff like this is only going to cause insurance to go up and make these companies more intrusive to use their services.

I can see this kind of thing being used as part of the social credit score agenda.

Perfect. Now when we read our insurance disclaimers, we're going to be baffled in a WTF moment when we read that they don't cover catching an STD in your vehicle. Kind of close to the way everything has a tag on it that stresses the danger of causing defects in the state of CA, as if it's not the atmosphere causing mental illness there.

STD plus DNA. Crazy world out there today.

If this is so, then if a person catches an STD from someone in their house, then homeowners policy could pay for it? just seems wrong in so many ways! I've personally requested tests from future partners since AIDS first came on the scene - probably has something to do whith why I'm still single
