Okay, as noone seems to have detected it yet - here is the solution to the embedded signal in my short story.
The contrast within the story which is written in the text is that the protagonist could achieve contact to the death (the Other Side at the top of
the story) but could not achieve contact with the living (the experts at the bottom of the story).
A hint which was given earlier about the embedded signal is
"concrete poetry".
en.wikipedia.org...
So there is another layer - information which comes not from the meaning of the words of the text but which comes from the visual arrangement of the
elements of the text (in this story: paragraphs and lines).
To find the embedded signal have a look at the
number of lines in each paragraph and the line length.
The number of lines in each paragraph (from bottom to top) is
1-1-2-3-5-8 -> this is a
Fibonacci sequence
The Fibonacci sequence is everywhere in living systems - the visual pattern suggests now that there is even more life at the top of the story - at the
Other Side.
The line length in the top first paragraph (the Other Side) resembles a
Bell curve -> BELL signal
(Cross reference - who rebembers the ASCII Bell sound at the end of the Chilbolton 2002 crop circle alien message?)
The frequencies of the Bell curve in the first paragraph are still not at their final expected values, which symbolizes that there are still changes
expected to happen - again a sign of life.
The length of lines in the remaining paragraphes (from bottom to top) resembles
(Fibonacci)
Expansion And Retracement -> EAR
The
BELL signal comes from death of the Other Side.
The
EAR (which should hear the signal) is at This Side - the experts, the living.
But it seems, noone of the experts here could hear the signal.
As a part of the short story was about someone who had taken their own life - let me conclude this post with a part of the song lyrics about someone
who had taken their own life too (Vincent):
Now, I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen nowedit on 6-7-2022 by Marlow because: (no reason given)
