I post this as it only happened yesterday, very close to where I live...and actually managed to make the national news.
I also post it because it's the first story from NBC fake news I've seen...that I can personally say is true.

Since we have moved down here to Florida, we see these gators all over the golf course...and golfers are used to them; constantly playing around them.

They're a nuisance to those on the links and who own small dogs and small kids, but I just think they're pretty cool...and delicious.

Fore! Video Shows Gator Grabbing Golf Ball on Florida Course

A Florida golfer had a hard time making par thanks to a ball-snatching alligator.

Mike Harb said he was golfing at Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club in Ormond Beach Sunday when one of the people in his group put the ball on the green.

But that's when the gator decided it wanted the ball and popped it into its mouth in a video shot by Harb.

"Chase him closer to the hole that way your ball, have him just drop it in the hole," one man can be heard saying in the video as the gator walks away.

Makes me think it thinks it's one of her eggs, but it's looking too small to be breeding I think, perhaps it's a juvenile alligator that identifies as a mother.

Possibly.
Lately, there are a lot of large turtles leaving the ponds around the course to lay eggs near the course. I've stopped to move two of these big guys out of the local streets.
Could be the gator thought he had a turtle egg.

Yea but wouldn't it just eat the egg, instead of taking it to the kitchen and making a quiche or an omelet. I mean you make it sound like it's putting away eggs like a squirrel puts away nuts

OP APOLOGY:

It has been brought to my attention that the title of my thread is not only incorrect...it is misleading.

The title should have been amended to say:

"Gator Bites 'Golfing PERSON'S' Ball in Florida"

TY

Personally, I'm thankful that testicles were not involved in the story.

Too early in the week to be mentally traumatized by the thought.

I fell for it as well, had a quip ready that went something like this "That's what he get's for marrying one", that's what you call a click bait title and it is still very funny.

In Virginia the Foxes would grab the golf balls thinking they were eggs...

Here in Florida I leave on a golf course and we have gators, deer, turkeys, Opossums, Racoons, and Armadillos.
Along with the geese we may eat well if TSHTF.

Been in Florida 7 months...saw all of the above, but an armadillo.
Still waiting...

In Florida, all armadillos are found dead alongside the road. The only live ones ever seen are found digging up your yard looking for grubs.

Now this is different because I just heard on the news (last night maybe) that a Florida Man was killed by a gator on a frisbee golf course because the guy was searching the pond for frisbees even though signs were posted No Swimming and Gators in Pond.
