War only ever hurts the poor. Two countries will get into a conflict because their respective small groups of wealthy old leaders take issue with one
another.
Then those two countries impose sanctions that disrupt both country's supply chains, hurting the poor and middle class the most while the wealthy
don't notice a change.
If the conflict escalates the two countries send in their militaries. These militaries, of course, largely made up of the poor and middle class, often
those that felt like they had no other choice to provide for themselves and loved ones.
Then these two groups of poor and middle class citizens, who, if anything, believe in protecting their loved ones and countrymen far more than
protecting whatever beliefs started the conflict start killing each other off.
Eventually the poor and middle class get tired of watching loved ones die, then after a couple years of protesting the old and wealthy at the top
withdraw their countries to lick their wounds, while suffering virtually no changes to their own lives.
Briefly there was a time when American revolutionaries started attacking officers in war, something thought of as rude and uncivilized by old European
formation fighters. Fortunately for officers and leaders we developed long-range communication to keep them back out of harm's way and let the poors
fight to the death.
