You have to wonder how many lives would be saved if responsible people had a weapon and the wherewithal to intervene when danger approached the unarmed multitude. A few teachers or guards at schools would stop much of the idiots who want to do harm to the defenseless IMO. I wonder how many MSN channels will report this ?

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Charleston police say a man has died after he was shot following an altercation about speeding through a neighborhood.

According to the release from the Charleston Police Department, Dennis Butler, 37, of Charleston was found around 10:45pm Wednesday with multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex on Renaissance Circle.

Officers say their investigation found that Butler was approached earlier Wednesday and confronted about speeding through the apartment complex while children were playing.

The report says Butler left the area, but returned a short time later with an AR 15 style rifle and started shooting at people attending a party.

Officers say a party goer drew a pistol, fired at Butler and fatally wounded him.

Charleston police say no one else was injured, and that several witnesses and the person who fired at Butler waited for police to arrive and cooperated with their investigation.

Wonder, but while armed with facts:

Consistent with other recent survey research, the survey finds an overall rate of adult firearm ownership of 31.9%, suggesting that in excess of 81.4 million Americans aged 18 and over own firearms. The survey further finds that approximately a third of gun owners (31.1%) have used a firearm to defend themselves or their property, often on more than one occasion, and it estimates that guns are used defensively by firearms owners in approximately 1.67 million incidents per year.

An armed society, is a polite society. In a more trendy way to say it "F around and find out!"

An armed person is always treated with respect.

Yeah but not the kind of respect that is honorable. Not the armed person get's the respect, it's the gun.

Sport shooter here. Just wanted to point out that respect out of fear or something attached to your hip, isn't real respect. It's bought respect that holds as long as you have your gun.

Now, since the governments seem to have 0 natural respect at all towards citizens lately, I do acknowledge this kind of respect has merit and should be pursued.

It does probably, I was not challenging that.

I just wrote that it's not real respect then, it's fear. End result is the same probably.

But it isn't respect.

Yeah but who brings hands to a gun fight?

Morons, anyways.

BTW speaking of bringing hands, have you ever shouted in the supermarket "Does somebody know where I can find the hands in this place?"

Freaks people out visibly.

Hi 727Sky!

A thought:
Ive carried concealed since 1974 in Miami...drew only once in the dark.....

In your grocery line with me? Well...Id not stop a robbery per se...Im not law enforcement....and Id not stop someone running away. This is why I carry a 357 Magnum in my retirement. Im not playin with anyone in yours of my or anyones face. Run away...well find you later.

Run at me, a child, a nobody in line I dont even know? Yep. Anytime. I would go down for others. *

*Edit to Add: I hope to die without ever drawing it.

Seems people are so easily triggered these days looks like somebody told him to slow down driving through the complex and he came back later and started shooting.

I think you are gonna see this more and more. Especially here in Georgia with the new CC law.

From an article:

"Dennis Butler, 37, was killed Wednesday night after he pulled out the rifle and began shooting at dozens of people attending the birthday-graduation party outside an apartment complex in the city of Charleston, police said in a statement."

Must have been a real #ty shot. Shot and AR-15 into a crowd of dozens and not one injury?

Then she pulls a pistol and it's all over. Hmmmmmm?

Sounds like a "false flag" conspiracy to me.

I found the fact he hit no one odd as well. I don't buy false flag for these things though.

Was he not legally armed, also?

Seems the icing on the cake get the treatment.

This IS the issue.

Legal possession and legal use are 2 seperate things. Illegal use makes it an illegal possesion.

well it was not concealed for one. anyone with a CiC is usually not a criminal either since they have to pass a criminal backround check.

What is an AR-15 style rifle? Is that an official category?
