You hear a lot of neo-cons boast about Reagan's work in Afghanistan, but did in reality that Cowboy set back women's rights back by 40 years?
I'm not talking about maternal leave or free Tampons but rights such as not having to experience honor killings, genital mutilation, and facial mutilation attacks?

It seems like the Neo-cons have no self awareness, what exactly do they celebrate over Afghanistan?

I think that the mujahideen would have triumphed regardless but I think the war would have dragged on longer than it did. It's the Muslim extremists who have set women's rights back to the middle ages. Western culture was never going to be widely accepted among a population that adheres so closely to the word of a terribly misguided religion. I find all religions to be a bit crazy but Islam definitely tops the list in my opinion. Especially when their prophet was into kiddie diddling. That's not someone I would take religious direction from.

Did Reagan set up the stage for the Extremist to take over? Would Afghanistan women been better off if the USA didn't get involved while the soviets treated the Muslims the way China is currently treating their saudi backed extremist?

I don't agree. If you read accounts from their side they were resigning themselves to losing but taking as many Russians with them as possible. Once we started supplying weapons, advisors and intelligence their mindset changed and felt they could achieve success.

Mr. Reagan displayed a profound respect toward the Rebbe and his teachings. The President was an early and enthusiastic adherent of the Rebbe's call to make all people aware of the Seven Universal Laws, based on the belief in a Supreme Being.

Reagan, and every president since, has openly supported Noahide Laws that call for the decapitation of people who don't worship their chosen deity.
