Iraq had been badly beaten by the first Iraqi conflict and couldn't have the resources to rebuild its military infrastructure.

The War Criminal coalition made it look easy in Iraq during the invasion because of the logistics and other issues Iraq had.

I've got to say that's inaccurate. Finland for example has polled between 20% and 30% support for joining NATO for the last 30 years, and now it's shot up to almost 80%. And Sweden was less willing.
