Whenever you hear UK,US,EU officials mock Russian military as weak on the news or claim that they are losing in Ukraine you know that Ukraine isn't likely doing well.

Maybe after the performance by NATO after 20 years in Afghanistan they arent in the best position to mock other nation's military?

It would be incredibly cruel to hand Azov Battalion soldiers over to Novorossiyan forces as is rumoured.

They probsbly deserve it like, but i feel they should be treated as any other pow pending a war crimes tribunal or something.

Both. The Al Jazeera link explicitly mentions the cities of Novoazovsk and Olenivka. Both are in separatist-controlled territory.

I've been following the conflict on Liveuamap, and what tipped me off was statements by the Ukrainian government that were attempting to spin the situation as some sort of heroic victory. It struck me as having a kind of "remember the Alamo"-ish vibe to it, so I went looking for news on Azovstal.

The "news" out of Ukraine should be stating that their troops are now moving through Russian lines with very little resistance and gaining ground from their fortified positions within Azov.

Well, if the wounded soldiers are being taken by the Russians and treated as prisoners of war...they are surrendering to the Russians. Why can't you see that, they are not free if the Russians have them. I am sure they will be guarded by the Russians at the hospital.

Meanwhile the Ukrainians pushed the ruSSians completely out of the north ages ago, and northeast of the country recently and have even from reports managed to cross the river the ruSSians failed 10 times too the last week, while more western weapons like the m777 which out ranges the ruSSian artlillery by 10's of km's continue to come into the country to be used by Ukrainians trained in their use, and every day there are new ruSSian ammo depots going up in clouds of smoke...

All while a small number of Avoz stood their ground against constant artlillery bombardment, ruSSian attacks and various sabotage attempts by collaborators for a couple of months.

Where are they gaining ground? They pushed back the fixing operation in Kharkiv. Lost Popasynya, Abandoned the troops in Limon that are now surrounded, and blew the only bridge to Limon that could have resupplied them.

The river crossing that went bad for Russia also consisted of 31 BMP 1s. If you don't know why that matters it is because only Ukraine fields them. There have been hundreds of vehicles on both sides that have been captured. Maybe you forgot that Russia captured the world's second-largest ASP from Ukraine a month ago. It contains enough Munitions to wage war for half a dozen years on a much larger scale than this.

Here in the german MSM it sounds like the Azov-Nazis who use civilans as human shields are heroes that fought for sooo long, created some huuuge problems for the russians and costed them a lot of time, material and soldiers. I also read somewhere that they were be freed now. By who, the russians? The whole thing is called surrender. There is nothing heroic about using one's own countrymen as a shield and now as object of exchange.

Weeks ago, the commander there at Azovstal had declared that the situation is hopeless and in two cases the Russians have set an ultimatum. The president apparently disagreed and now still sells the necessary surrender as a heroic success, one lacks the right words for it. After Mr. Selenskyi and the responsible soldiers at that time before encirclement had excluded the escape corridor (announced a few days before and had been confirmed by Mr. Guterres) the Russians had offered, they said that they wanted to "fight to the last one". Then all of the sudden civilists, women and children in the catacombs were presented to the world by the Wochenschau-MSM, which should be then "extracted" by western forces. Elsewhere, people rightly complain about such "human shields".

Many propaganda infected lemmings demanded then that the civilians and soldiers have to be rescued with the help of western, NATO forces. That they are drawn with that move into that WEF-wag the dog theater play and maybe WWII was no subject of concern for these "Einsteins". Yesterday then alleged phosphorus or termite bombs. Today removal of the Azov-Nazis as prisoners in buses, nevertheless hailed as the greatest heroes of all times in the western "Wochenschau"-MSM. The fact is that all this was used with media effect by the WEF controlled ukrainian rulers and in the end both, civilians and soldiers, were let out or were captured by russian forces and nothing heroic happened. They were simply used as cannon fodder, used as actors for that WEF wag the dog war theater play by WEF-Selenskyi as long as possible, no matter if they suffer, die or will be held as prisoners.
