A conspiracy about Cinco De Mayo

Why is it that every year, Cinco De Mayo falls on the 5th of May?

Do they plan it that way?

Every darned year.

Now I'm not sure what Cinco De Mayo means, except the Mayo part.

And I like that on BLT's.

But Cinco De?

Sounds awful foreign to me.

It's possibly a touchy subject, though. I once met a guy who said he was from New York and when I asked him about it he shot me in the leg and told me to forget about it.

We are protesting Cinco De Mayo today. We are eating Generals chicken and other Asian foods tonight. Had enough of the social programming where they expect you eat a certain food on a certain day...look how Fat Tuesday made the wife and I gain a couple of pounds with all those paczkis we ate.

i thought it was because it was mexican independence from spain.
but apparently its because the french lost to the mexican army, and then the french came back and slaughtered them another day.

kind of a weird holiday.

Not only that but they keep moving it to different days of the week! Why can't they just put in on Friday so we have a few days to recover. Then I wouldn't need to use my ladder trick.
