Maybe.
I think he may have gotten some GI brownie points for sending Starlink into Ukraine though.

Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter has been unanimously approved by the Twitter board, a regulatory filing Tuesday shows. Shareholders still must vote on the proposed $44 billion deal.
In a virtual call with Twitter employees Friday, Musk reiterated his desire to acquire the social media platform, despite Twitter stock having considerably fallen below his offering price of $54.20 per share.

The move comes after Musk reportedly met with several shareholders over the weekend and outlined the specifics of his $54.20 per share bid for the social media platform, according to Reuters. Musk’s outreach forced the company’s board of directors to seriously consider the Tesla CEO’s $43 billion takeover bid, the report said.

This is not a done deal. As the article points out the purchase could go south before it's over with. Twitter tried to get a "go-shop" deal which would have allowed them to accept other bids without having to pay Musk a "break-up" fee, but Musk didn't go for it. Also, many shareholders have encouraged the sale.
Although Musk buying twitter IS news, to me the real news is what has happened to bring us to this point. DeSantis put no small amount of pressure on twitter to accept the offer or be sued over their "poison pill" fiasco, and I have no doubt DeSantis isn't the only one. Trump may have his hand in this as well, among others working in the background...
It will be interesting to see the end result of all the wrangling done to make the deal and take twitter private.

I wonder if he's considered renaming it?
Or, rather, I think they call it "re-branding" when you're that big.
Twitter is such a stupid name.
I heard he's going to make the dodgecoin dog as it's new icon:
