My Call to You

A few weeks ago, I authored a post about theater sucking. I have given a lot of thought to that post and have decided to move forward with starting a theatre company.

May I introduce you to:

The Crow City Players.

Although I have not finished a mission statement yet, the following will give you a feel for where I am going.

I want to examine social issues with theatre. I want both sides of these issues explored and the ending/moral conclusions to be debated and drawn by the individuals watching.

I am posting today to put a call to all playwrights and authors. If you have or are inspired to write, please DM me submissions. I am accepting submissions through May 15th. Here is the criteria:

1. One act plays between 10 and 20 minutes run time.

2. Up to 6 characters...no preference on race/gender/age.

3. Social issues including but not limited to gender, race relations, growing old, etc.

4. Plays examining the above issues from all sides of the political spectrum.

As stated previously, this is for a new company that is starting from ground zero...royalties and performance fees will be tough for us...

If you don't write but know someone who does, pass this on.

If you have seen a 1 act you think would fit, pass it on to me.

As an inspiring writer all I can say is good luck to you!
I’m working hard and have posted some early writs here.
I’ve learned there’s a lot of talent here that as of yet I can’t hold a candle too.

Good luck with this project!! If any of the one act responses feel like a short film; perhaps I/we can produce it for the film festival circuit and promote the CCPs.

I wonder why this spammer is allowed to continue...also on other threads!!

No idea on the spam....and of course I would love to do some short films.
