. . . there are fighters who arrived on the ground that “literally think it's like a video game."
edition.cnn.com...

There will also be movies, books, quasi-religious organisations and other means of implanting ideas.

I believe these people were deliberately led into the death cult fantasy to fulfil a purpose. That purpose being a scary war that enables the economic reset.

Ukrainian MP for Odesa Oleksiy Goncharenko tells the BBC that Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol won't surrender to Russia.

"I spoke with them yesterday, and I know that they're going to fight until the end," he says.
www.bbc.co.uk...

This showdown is horribly staged.

No doubt some are but many who have joined the fight are former soldiers who want to use their training to help out the underdog in this conflict , those who's decision was influenced by Call of Duty will soon find there is no respawn.

It's estimated there are hundreds of former British soldiers who have made the decision to go fight for the cause of freedom , personally I salute them.

I can't wait to hear their stories when they ...excuse me... If they ever return. I bet they will have some amazing tales of adventures with their nationalist/nazi war buddies. Something tells me most of those guys are really wishing they hadn't and its was too late after they signed in for the duration.

What's wrong with nationalism? Don't you love your own country, maybe you're a globalist?

Lots of these 'mercenaries' have dual nationality having either been born in Ukraine and moved to UK/EU or are British born and married Ukrainian women and moved to Ukraine.
They are fighting for their homeland.

I'm sure the Russian Neo-Nazi militia's who are fighting side by side the regular Russian conscripts will treat them with the care and compassion Russian armed forces are noted for.

In this clown world I'm not quite sure "neo-nazi" means what you think it means. This is an excerpt from a ridiculous Yahoo article about a neighborhood flag dispute...

This act left her feeling uneasy as the new, obscure red and yellow flag is associated with the Socialist Workers Party of Russia, a far-right hate group.

Older member here.

People have been doing this since the beginning of time. It was pretty common during the cold war. You'd see all kinds of people flocking behind people like Che Guevara and going to fight in all kinds of wars in all kinds of places.

More recently we've seen people going of to fight for or against all kinds of Jihadi groups, or to fight against Asad in Syria.

20 years ago I signed up for a technical position with a private military contractor in Afghanistan, though in that case I was more interested the paycheck than in the ideology.

You might want to check the timeline on that. Those militia were formed during the Obama administration and were later absorbed into the regular military. They're long gone. They died, retired, or were shuffled out in favor of professional soldiers. The regimental name was kept but the Nazi haven't been part of it for years.

So, are you assuming for some reason that I don't know what a Neo-Nazi is?

I'm saying that apparently, according to the copious amounts of propaganda being thrown about by both sides, we have russian neo-nazis fighting ukranian neo-nazis .....I'm just waiting for the neo-nazi wing of the IDF to join the fray. Everyone's a "neo-nazi".

The fact you are making cute jokes about people who were literally comitting genocide is rather repugnant.

The reality is that there are a lot of Neo-Nazi's throughout Eastern Europe, far more than in Western Europe.
And yes, there are Neo-Nazi's fighting on both sides, yet many on here would have everyone believe that it is a solely Ukrainian thing.

Russian Neo-Nazi militias have been operating in Donbas for quite some time where they have been provoking, antagonising and even terrorising Ukrainians and attacking Ukrainian government installations.
All with funding and backing from Moscow.

They are now fighting alongside the regular Russian armed forces that have invaded Ukraine.

For some reason some on here choose to ignore that fact whilst demonising the Neo-Nazi's within Ukraine ranks.

And I assure you, most of these groups and people, on both sides, are quite accurately described as Neo-Nazi's.

We only have to look at Russia's track record of how they treat Prisoners of War to second guess what is going to happen.
And bear in mind Russia doesn't recognise them as POW's despite them being part of the Ukrainian regular Armed Forces.

I suspect Ukraine won't be any different in how they treat their captives.

Such is the tragedy of war.

Now if only Putin were to call an immediate ceasefire and enter into unconditional talks maybe all this needless and senseless killing could stop.

Mercenaries have been a part of war since we as a species forged that first club and starting beating our neighbours to get our way. Mercs will always be a part of war. There is an entire industry built around the concept of soldiers for hire.
Some folks due it for money, others for ideology, others for the thrill but they all have one thing in common; they are willing to go fight someones else war for their own reasons.

Go on, look at the dates, you'll see that the events being discussed happened in 2014, and that leader of the militia left it years ago and started up their own political party. They're not involved in the military or mainstream politics any more and haven't been for years.

If you'd been following the story back in 2014 you'd know this, but no, you've only just heard of it and you've presumed that it's current events, not something that happened almost a decade ago.

If you actually belive that I can't help you...but I can suggest if you wish to not be ignorant you should actually looks into that and I don't mean western sources...they aren't going to tell you anything about it. Actually on second thought I am pretty sure even Vice did a piece in 2016 or 18 i forget but a few years after 2014 an which even they said it was still a big issue.
