Happy Easter to you. I like to call it Jesus Day.

Easter was adopted as a tool for conversion, and it is celebrated as such. The eggs were adopted to to signify the new life given to us through the resurrection of Christ. Decorating eggs is an ancient tradition not originally linked to Easter by Christians or pagans, but it was first linked to Easter by Christians. They would paint them red to represent the blood of Christ and give them as gifts on good Friday. It evolved from there.

The Easter Bunny originated in 17th century German migrants in Pennsylvania. It really has nothing to do with Easter, and surely it became was marketed into being a false idol much like Santa Clause.

Still, celebrating Easter in this way is not blasphemous so long as it is a tool for worshipping God.

Many things were explained to pagans using their own imagery in order to help the concept digest better. The celtic cross is a prime example. It's a merger between their representation of the sun God and the cross of Christ. It explained eternity and the holy trinity being linked as one with a primary focus on God the father and Jesus Christ.

If you feel convicted to not celebrate Easter in this way, then I encourage you to abide by it; however, in understanding the true meaning behind why Easter is celebrated makes a difference.

I like celebrating in a way that acknowledges the power of Christ in both his resurrection and his ability to redeem all people including those former pagans.

God? You mean the one who said you shouldn't have other gods besides him?
Don't kid yourself if you're worshipping Jesus you declare a human as another God.
Personally I think it's a lot less bad to paint eggs and be happy spring is back.
Let's let God judge
Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit too.

The Holy Trinity is one God. Like water. Ice, liquid, and vapor. It's the same water in three forms.

Worshiping Christ is worshiping the one true God.

The good Lord was captured, put on trail then tortured to death and his people denied him, one even turned him it to the Romans for silver. I never celebrate this event, even though it is what allowed us to be saved.

Yes, he rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, but none of it makes me proud or happy. I think it is the worst holiday to worship the Lord, if anything Christmas should be around this time of year and they can abandon the other pagan inspired holidays. Too many damned holidays on the calendar as it is.

My great aunt used to go and spy on the Penitentes when she was a young girl in Colorado, ages ago when they would whip themselves like Christ got whipped. That would be the way to show real respect for this holiday, get whipped, wear a crown of thorns and carry the cross like they do.

Here's some stuff I learned researching this topic:

Matthew 12 39-40

He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Straight from Jesus, he states that he will be dead for 3 days and 3 nights.

But here's the interesting thing, 3 days and 3 nights from Resurrection Sunday, doesn't place the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday. It places his crucifixion on Thursday.

If Jesus died on Friday and rose again that Sunday, that would be 3 days and 2 nights.

The bible gives possible evidence that Jesus died on a Thursday. Mark 14:12, Luke 22:7 and John 13:1.
Each of these scriptures had the disciples prepare the Passover meal on the Day of Unleavened Bread, also known as the Day of Preparation.

The Day of Unleavened Bread is always on the 14th day of the first month (Nisan) in accordance to Moses' command in Leviticus 23:5.

It is essential to note that the Day of Unleavened Bread should not be confused with the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is the official first day of Passover.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread immediately follows the Day of Unleavened Bread. This places the Day of Preparation at sunset Nisan 14.

Jesus would have had to been dead Thursday day, Thursday night, Friday Day, Friday night, Saturday Day, Saturday night and risen Sunday for the 3 days and 3 nights to align with his words.

You don't count Sunday as part of the 3 days dead. Even IF you count Sunday as a day he was dead, that leaves us with Friday Day, Friday night, Saturday Day, Saturday night and Sunday Day. That's 3 days and 2 nights. Plot hole.

Nisan 14 (April 7) 30 A.D. was a Wednesday.

30 A.D. as the year of Jesus' death doesn't create the 3 day plot hole as 33 A.D. does.

With Passover, Ramadan AND Good Friday aligning on April 15th 2022 (Nisan 14), it's safe to say that the celebration of THIS years Easter is... Kosher

Hope everyone can find something to celebrate this weekend.

Happy Easter to all and to all a good night.

Are you not aware Jesus commanded us to partake of the Lord's supper?

You should rethink your opinion, your soul is in danger.

Gave people something to look forward to and do back in the day.

Religion is what happens when understanding of The Spirit is shoved down some other guy's throat. I've never met anyone who has come to 'know' of God by that method. 'Bout the closest they come to Him is 'belief'.

Nowadays we celebrate the start of hunting season ... and a promising morel patch. Hauling that cast iron pan around in the back of my truck finally paid off yesterday.

I take the holy sacrament, I'll do that at any Christian church that offers it, even a Catholic one. I don't see why that is any different on Easter holidays in regards to my eternal soul.

You went backwards from Sunday which is misleading....

Jesus died on 14 Nisan. This year makes it Friday. 14 Nisan is not always on a Friday.

What is important is 14 Nisan and you start with this day....the first day of his death is 14 Nisan, one day before Passover and then 3 days and 3 nights are revelant.

Jesus rose from the dead on 17 Nisan.

God bless

I've said all this over and over, but I've come to terms with the fact that Christianity is full of lies. And these so called Christian holidays are really just American traditions. None of it is about god or truth. But imo a nations traditions and holidays can bring people from all walks and beliefs, even briefly together. And imo the day should be celebrated, not because of Christian ideals, but its our tradition.

Will be an interesting answer. I'm reaching way way back into my memory, but as it serves, the first historical narrative of Jesus was penned something like 40 years after his death.

It's a cyclical myth to help people understand celestial movement.

Too right I'm a pagan. But I do like chocolate.

Doesn't this come up everywhere, every year?

I think the horse is dead, brother... no one I know who 'celebrates' Easter gives two flying marbles about Christ. Except the die hard Christians, and let them be, so what...

Don't see many posts about Ramadan being about a moon wizard and those who fast during it, are duped with loads of text to explain it. We all know.

Yeet....
