At the end of the day Elon Musk is just controlled Opposition, he likely is one of the new old Boys and so his agenda will likely not stray too far toward returning true free speech to you but he is probably way better than the idiots in charge though apparently Twitter have moved to limit how many shares any individual can own according to something I read somewhere, I never use the app though so it is only relevant to me because of it's prevalence in todays society.

Musk may be being taken down a peg at this time.

The Vanguard Group, a monsterous investment corp that has been featured numerous times on AST threads concerning it's tentacle-like controls over much of our society has upped it's shares in Twitter and now controls more share than Musk.

I don't know if people know this but they are also the top 3 shareholders along with Blackrock for Tesla. For those hoping Elon will be the savior, I'm sorry to say, he's just another one of them.

There's a lot going on here, more than I can process
or even superficially ponder tbh.

I have studied the pop icons of the recent past.
There are a lot of motives in the mind of mister musk
that are beginning to surface.
Toppermost of the Poppermost, redux.
Elon is hooked by the fanboi wake he has learned
to generate. In the hole. King of the Worlds.

He's a socialist. But he's the good kind of socialist.
Toward the greatest good for the greatest number,
the means of control of resources,
and production, should flow to those who are best at getting things done,
and not to the unproductive.

And that would be him. No one, in this world, knows more about manufacturing
than does Elon. When Tesla was being forced into bankruptcy, there was a lot
of overtime effort, and they had to sleep on the floor at times.
Elon's pain was the greatest of them all.
Also, he includes 'funtime' in his pitch. I suppose this means neural implants,
micros-dosing on auto-pilot, learning to love skynet and the bomb
while having an orgasm, on demand.
Fun time. He says we need fun time.
He'll provide it all.

Personally I am leery of having things like the existence of natural rights
bandied back and forth between the SC and Technofascist
wannabe leaders of a world government.
That is exactly what these monsters are, or want to be.

Why should 'it all' be in their hands?

Why should any of it?!

Why did the Beatles sell the most records?

It's all about scalability...

I promise you that Elon looks at himself in mirrors, a lot.
They all do. They want to be elected.
And....We will own what exactly?

(to be or not to be....the premise in these models is that it most certainly will be)

We will own soshcred. After that, using 'free speech'
to gripe about anything
anything that stands,
will only make it worse. It's in the very definition.

Well...and I took my time learning this wisdom, but
the Beatle whom I least despise
is Ringo.

Having taught Research Methods in a prominent Univ I can tell you that you can make any study prove what you want it to prove. It is quite easy to do with statistical manipulation, and/or sample size, and/or the population you choose to study. It is also well known in the Univ. universe that getting published in "respected" journals is a matter of "you review my study and say it is great, and I'll review your study and say it is great." Peer review is a joke, I've seen it first hand.

I know it's been a few days, so not sure if you'll see this, but perhaps you could shed light on something else for me.

I've heard that the anonymity in the peer review system often doesn't work. The simple reason being that the prominent people in the field keep up pretty well with what research each other are doing. So when a study comes to you for peer review, even if it's anonymous, just by what research was done you can tell who did it. You can also recognize patterns in how different people write or what research methodologies they prefer.

What was your experience with that?

here is another way to look at it / show the hypocrisy of those supporting this anti musk charge.

one..
musk is a businessman .. he made his fortune giving what the people want.
if the people didnt WANT a more open/freedom of expression (both what is popular and what is not popular) then he WOULD NOT want to buy twitter and open it up
you dont get to be a millionaire/billionaire unless you provide what the people want..
well the exception is politicians, but thats another issue for another day.

this leads into point two... the hypocricy.

if Mr musk buys twitter and it isnt (as so many in media , twitter workforce , and here) what the people want then why stop him?
let him waste his money then you all FORM ANOTHER SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLET.
you provide what you claim the people want and watch twitter "crash and burn"?
that is basic logic and economic 101

it seems all this ranting, gnashing of teeth, demanding, and threatening "poison pill" (that last part IMO the most pathetic) is showing that you KNOW YOUR IN THE WRONG and fear he will show you what fools you are.

or as Shakespeare wrote so long ago "me thinks the lady protest too much".

btw the poison pill is the most SILLY AND COUNTERPRODUCTIVE thing they could do / you all want them to do..

he will pay alot for a controlling share, then when you do this STUPID IGNORANT THING he can buy up the rest for "a song" and own almost the whole (if not the whole) thing.

how that gonna help your cause?

scrounger

ps to remind people the FOUNDERS stated the first amendment "isnt for whats popular, but whats unpopular"

That is also true for honest scientists who want a real peer review.

However, honest to honest scientists in academia are not the majority unfortunately. The reason is what is called "publish or perish". That is until one is tenured, which normally takes a long time, one must publish studies or risk being fired. Publish several peer reviewed studies with poor reviews in a row, and being fired then losing the ability to find another job in the field is a reality. So the system pushes the scientists to find peers to review their studies that are friends who are now at other universities or people they met professionally at conferences and hit it off with. Then a sort of unspoken "pact" is made, rarely it is actually spoken, "you give me a good review and I'll give you a good review". Once tenured, the system they created for themselves for peer review is ingrained.

The best way to tell if a study is good is when others try to disprove a study. Once it has been disproved multiple times, over several years, you know it is no good. If a very long time goes by and no one disproves it, then it is probably a good study. But that can take years due to the publish or perish system that most research scientists in Universities live under.

I've always known it was a corrupt system. People freak out when you talk about science that way, but we're not actually talking about science. Science is a pure construct, and I love science.

Sadly, people screw it up.

And honestly none of this should come as a shock to anyone who reads science history. Scientists, especially revered experts in their field, have a long history of stubbornness, ignorance, ineptitude, and even corruption.

Mika Brzezinski is a highly paid but low skilled propagandist.

The honesty is refreshing, however.

The media, since the restrictions on domestic propaganda operations were lifted, have been assaulting the American mind relentlessly to elucidate emotional impulses whereby policy that has been waiting in darkness can be made law by whatever emergency is used to manipulate the public.

This isn't just done with fear. They do this with anger, love, resentment, and indifference. They act on your biological drivers. They act on your prejudices even as they condemn them in public.

They even managed to successfully use the working class as outrage shields during the pandemic.

Propaganda works and what they fear most is losing Twitter as a the world's most insidious propaganda trap.

If ever there was ambiguity in the reasons to bin your smart phone before...
This pantomime ... (of which it is one of many similar scripts being dramatised 24/7 world wide simultaneously ).. I hope, raises questions on its subject matter....makes people frown and helps quickly to unmuddy the waters for individuals ... bring a moment of clarity to people...
A Realisation

A Comprehensive comprehension of the power each person can unleash by just engaging in open and
honest lines of communication with other people .. having empathy and letting dialogue / mutal respect & ideas to blossom collaboratively...
Being humble and openminded enough to widen our understanding of how the societies we were born into and how the world really works for the people who are "in power " or carry influence to direct change...

Because we hold all the cards ....
The power of every individual & community's communication, across online platforms, ....
The sharing of thoughts and knowledge...
Meaningful communication leading to organic growth of bonds formed between like minded people.....
Organisation.

It's the power ... it's the bread & butter ... the lifes blood ...
The essential ingredient that is so much of a necessity in the ability of anyone wanting to control... lead... shape... manage ... rule... dictate... influence..

Our words ... thoughts... opinions... and the ability to manipulate or starve these is paramount in an easily accessible and compliant society.

This is why twitter sells for 44 billion.... 44.

But... we hold the words... thoughts... opinions etc that are craved and coveted so much for control....

If everyone dumped Twitter.. faceache... etc... the weapons used for compliance and management of the narrative ... hold no power.
Cant fact check or pump your narrative if there no one on your platform to see it.
Twitter still worth 44 then?

Throw your tv. Dump ya smartphone.
Cant be manipulated or denied free speech if your not using thier tool.

None other than MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' Mika Brzezinski said the following words in her out-loud voice...

"The dangerous edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media, trying to make up his own facts, and it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsen, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think..."

And then the nail in the 'oops, I just told the truth coffin':

Look at how LIBERALS were bashing new Twitter owner Elon Musk, 2 days ago.

Musk is Helping Republicans Win on Nov 8th!: slate.com...

I bet they're all drinking Pepto-Bismol mixed with Gin tonight, now that their hero Kathy Griffin has been banned from Twitter!

What the idiots don't realize is that in early October, a LIBERAL Federal Judge ordered Elon Musk to buy Twitter by 10/28/2022, or walk away from the deal.

Twitter Owner/CEO ELON MUSK Removes The NEW YORK TIMES from "Legitimate News" status on Twitter, and downgrades the media outlet to "Propaganda" status.
