As I discussed with neoholographic and daskakik, there is no indication Genesis verses 4:12 to 4:17 are in chronological order.

Back then.... it's protocol. Scientifically, back then, it's impossible.

Making it = protocol

If you write a book built on enslaving everyone better than you like other races, females, Yada Yada yada... it's practically protocol to hit certain marks.

Modern day surgery would be one of fthem.

Of course, there's always a chance he meses up. So it's not rocket surgery....

Exactly!

He thinks the Bible isn't in order and he has some super secret knowledge about the order of the Bible.

So Cain gave had Enoch before he was banished.

If this is the case, why mention that Cain knew his wife and she conceived? Why not just say Cain built a city in the name of his son if he already knew his wife? Where does it say he had a wife before he was banished?

Lamech didn't kill Cain.

Lamech is talking about being wounded and killing someone.

He's then trying to make himself bigger than Cain by saying vengence will come to the people that wounded him and the vengence will be worse than the sevenfold vengence associated with Cain.

This is simply a boast from Lamech to make himself look more important than Cain.

It's a boast that he killed Cain.

Your interpretation removes all significance from the verse. It seems to me, quite demeaning to the word of the LORD.

You asked for an indication. I provided.

I ask the question again, why did Lamech call his great great great grandfather Cain, whom he killed, a young man?

No, I'm implying that what is written in the Bible reflects the ones in power of that particular time's needs and wants by attempting to project an image of science-fiction, at least in their eyes.

While reading it today seems sorely outdated and nearly laughable.

The Bible is a collection of books filled with allegories, why do you think this story is not one too?

It sounds like the person who initially wrote that part only had knowledge of human anatomy that was available to them at the time. Also, what the writer fails to realize is that this takes place BEFORE Adam and Eve bite into the forbidden fruit. This would have been before Adam knew what pain and suffering was, so there would not have been the need for a deep sleep.

Why would you go through all the development from ground when you already have a product ready? Just modify it for the new need and voila.
