One morning around 2005 I woke up in utter amazement about a dream I had. It seemed that I had woken up and was conscious yet I remained there in the
dream realm, I could do what I wanted and i had a blast! I don't quite remember today what that dream was about but that dream was the first in a
long journey of nightly lucid dreaming.
There wasn't much information on the internet back then about lucid dreaming but there was enough for me to figure out that it was in fact a lucid
dream that I had. I was very good at meditation and so I figured I'd meditate on it to see if I could induce more lucid dreams. It worked, and I
lucid dreamed every night for several years thereafter. I don't meditate much at all these days but I do still lucid dream around 3 times a week or
so. Now I will tell you the top two what I feel is my most intriguing lucid dreams.
Learning to fly was tricky at first but i got it down pretty good after a week or two. Flying was and still is my favorite thing to do while lucid
dreaming. I began to wonder if this flying thing was a deeper repetitive dream concept. My top two dreams have to do with me flying.
Year 2011-
One day I was thinking about what I wanted to do that night once I entered my lucid dream state. I had decided that I wanted to fly into space and fly
to the moon. Once I reached dream state I remembered what I wanted to do. It was late afternoon in my dream, the sun beginning to set. I was in some
unknown city. Population perhaps 100k. I willed myself up high into the sky, the people roaming the streets began to appear as small as ants. Then,
quickly the buildings grew smaller and I was able to see the city almost in its entirety.
Suddenly an orange haze buzzed all around me flowing quickly downward. I couldn't tell if I was still going up so I willed myself upward once more.
After what seemed to be about 10 seconds or so I shot out the top of the clouds and I can see them going down below my feet very fast. At this point I
was high enough that I could not only see the entire city, I could also see several other surrounding cities. It was getting a little dark by now and
I could see city lights.
Now this is the part I find intriguing. After a few moments of looking down as I flew up higher and higher very fast I looked straight in front of me.
It was so strange, the clarity of this dreamscape was astonishing. However it went completely black after a certain point. Sharply black, no fade or
anything. I turned to my right, left, behind me and it was the same, in a nice circle surrounding me. Blackness.
It's hard for me to judge just how far it was but if I had to guess I'd say it was perhaps a 50 mile radius. I was so intrigued by this that I had
forgotten my task of flying to the moon and my excitement and astonishment awoke me from my dream.
Now, this next lucid dream blows the last one out of the water. This lucid dream happened three or four weeks ago.
Again I was in another strange city when I became lucid. So I flew up into the sky about 500 feet then asked my consciousness to show me something
amazing as I turned a 180. The city became beautifully crisp and all the buildings were impeccably white. Buildings of all shapes and sizes.
I took a pause and meditated within this dream and concentrated on building up my willpower. Then after a moment I willed myself upward as hard as I
had ever willed anything. The city quickly fell beneath my feet but this time this city didn't seem to have an end. There weren't other surrounding
cities, the landscape seemed to be one huge brilliant white city.
I kept willing myself hard upward and a feeling of pure bliss came over me for a moment or two rushingall throughout my body. Eyes still open I see
the city in front of me, it seems I had rotated forward slightly and was flying backwards. I watched the details of the massive white city blend away
into one solid white wall.
Looking to either side, up and down all I could see was a massive bright white wall. I continued willing myself hard away from this wall. Eventually
I began to see curvature at the edges of the wall more and more. Then some color in the wall, maroon. Still flying away I notice the color in the wall
formed some sort of symbol. A maroon colored symbol. It was very generic and plain. The shape of it reminded me of the knight's profile in chess.
I looked left and right and I could see that the curvature of the wall had become more extreme and that the wall was a ball. Still willing myself away
then looking around once again I seen more white balls, each with their own maroon colored symbol on it. They looked like billiards balls. Then I seen
that they were all in a cardboard box of which had some other junk in it.
I was high enough now that I could see that I was in someone's bedroom. I could see all the junk all over their floor. It smelled of body oder and
cigarettes. I could see the couple laying on their bed asleep. They were an old couple, covered in only a sheet.
I decided to exit as quickly as possible so I simply flew through the walls. The next room was similar to the last one as far as the junk goes but
didn't smell quite as bad, I kept moving. Then, the smell of mold and something flapping in my face so I altered my trajectory slightly, turned,
looked and realized I was going through their shower curtain sideways. I turned and flew through their closed bathroom window and into their front
yard.
The neighborhood looked average, maybe a little on the poor side. I was in awe at what the F just happened. I'd had enough for the night and decided
to go ahead and let my subconscious take the helm.
