There's pictures of it falling out in lines and creating bald patches due to allopecia hence why she went for the buzz cut. An old housemate had it and looks like typical alopecia to me.

From what little I know (never heard of her before this incident) she wears it with pride and wasn't upset by the joke at all, but if someone is publicly taking the piss out of a womans medical condition then it's not suprising their husband would bitch slap someone or defend their wife.

I don't think it was malicious just a poor joke and as someone with a serious medical condition/disability I think laughter is the best form of medicine and there need to be more jokes directed at them instead of being treated with kid gloves as it makes you feel 'normal' instead of patronised.

It was obviously staged to create a bit of controversy and attention to something nobody cares about much these days.

Something interesting about it though is the media try to get you to form an opinion over it, then look at what people’s opinions are in social media and see if it matches up.

Why should I even care one way or another?

First, why does anybody give a rat's a$$? When you think about it, what happened there is not all that uncommon, except that it more often involves firearms and someone else up dead.

Second, why is there even a question of whether I should "forgive" him? He did nothing to me. I don't have anything to forgive.

The public's fascination with this if, frankly, sickening. The masses are being fed feces and they are lapping it up with delight.

It never should have happened. The joke wasn't even a mean joke.

"Jada -- I love you. Can't wait to see you in GI Jane 2." That's almost verbatim. And that's all. I don't care if she does have alopecia. It might be a touchy subject for her, but this wasn't mean or insulting.

None of our business though. Not our joke, not our slap, not our Academy. And Wanda and Amy need to get over themselves and STHU about their "trauma" and "anxiety." Chris Rock has been a class act about it, but if he wants to hold a grudge, he's the only one entitled to do so.

If the Academy is so worried about bad behavior, there's plenty of others they should be more worried about. Like this guy:

The ratings of the Oscars is dying rapidly with each succeeding year since they started making it an alt-leftist political propaganda fest. In 1998 it had 58 million viewers, this year it had 16 million viewers.

Expect more bad behavior in the Oscars to prop up the ratings.

Well, I'm a lot less likely to go out of my way to watch King Richard now. I won't watch it now till its streaming for free. Last night I was watching TV, clicking around the remote and Gemini Man was playing. I tried, but I just couldn't watch it, and I'll never see Will Smith's works with the same eye again.

Jada is the problem.

I do not blame Will Smith. If anything I somewhat congratulate him, for broadcasting to the world the nasty spell she has him under.

If it was your wife how would you react, he acted like a MAN and did what a MAN is supposed to do and he was gentle with the idiot that insulted her all thing's considered.

Though of course he is very lucky as well since as Jim Carey pointed out someone else may have launched a lawsuit and pressed charges of assault and sued him for a whole lot of money.

But personally Good on Will for acting like a PROPER MAN even though violence is never the answer, he should have taken the microphone and said out loud what was on his mind instead.

You do not insult someone's wife and you don't insult there mother or there sister, insult them fine but there are places you should never go and that joke was in the worst and most insulting taste imaginable, by the way Will's wife is Beautiful anyway, some woman NEED hair other's can get by without it and still look beautiful.

Had Rock wanted to really draw blood with a joke, that's where he would have gone, and that's likely why Smith is such a broken man that he did what he did.

You are talking about a comedian whose job is to poke fun at uncomfortable things. You go in to a comedy performance, and you are fair game as a part of the audience. This should be understood. The joke made was a gentle one - a comparison of Jada's hair cut to the one Demi Moore had in G.I. Jane. It was entirely appropriate to the occasion being a joke about a movie and actress and there was nothing mean spirited to it.

If Jada had not made an issue about her feelings over her alopecia so that it was widely known she was terribly sensitive about it, Rock could not have possibly been expected to know. Unless you are assuming that because they are both famous blacks that they somehow are best friends with intimate knowledge of each others' lives?

So for Smith to storm the stage in such a way and attack the host for this is inexcusable. If there is a real problem, it is best handled in private later on, not in such a flagrantly public manner.
