I think I did by saying that we have been talking about that area since 2014 and so looking at my calendar that is over 3 moths ago.

Do we actually know how they locked on or even if they were just damn lucky with knowing it's route and were ready for it. I think it was suggested that the F-117 has a radar sig of a small bird, so yes it is not invisible if you know what you are looking for.

Its not invisible, great. Thats all I wanted to hear, because the patriots like the one here in the thread are adamant they can breeze through Russian defences and Russia wont know what hit them. They aren’t invisible

True, and we know that. We also can track just about every missile site out there. That is what the shock and awe was all about in the gulf war. A big part of cruise missiles and the B2 missions is to get SAAM or Air Defense sites. First few days of a war is that and communication. It gets to a point that if anyone turns on a radar they are basically dead very quickly, so the ones that survive the initial onslaught really can't use their equipment without getting detected and destroyed. I'm not sure how the F-22/F-35 can play into all that too as they are highly capable at penetrating and destroying radar extremely quick once it is turned on.

Thats a conversation for another thread but a lot goes into radar and detection. Algorithms that help make sense of the data crucial to detecting craft like F-35. And of course different frequency bands which have varying levels of detection.

I brought up the downing of USAs premier stealth plane as an example, if a third rate military Yuglavia can do it using okd school platforms, better believe Russia can do it too with the tech and their level of operation. They excel USA in various fields, so I will NOT accept the ignorance that they Russia cant do jack.
