Why is it some drivers have a superiority complex and disorder against cyclists.

I have absolutely zero problems with people going alternative when it comes to transportation.

I am a pedestrian myself, so I see a lot of stupid shiz when it comes to people on bikes.

Give bike riders a path that crosses traffic, they feel entitled.

They are typically the problem. Stop, hit the crossing button, then continue cycling...how hard is that?

Apparently there's a greater percentage of superiority complex disorders among cyclists ...

Entitlement mentality.

That's true. I'm a cyclist and have been for many years. Recently drivers have been dumbed down by their cell phones. I cycle 100% of my transportation. There are good drivers and drivers that shouldn't have a driver's license.
I usually don't ride on the street because we have student walks that are meant for school children riding their bikes. We can nearly go from one side of Japan to the other side ( east and west ) and usually have school walks. Other then way out in the countryside I have to use the streets. I'm always looking out with my 2 mirrors on my bike.

Here you have to get off the bike to cross for example zebra striped lines. Pedestrians have the way of right for these road crossings. Cars need to stop when someone wants to pass such a zebra striped section, but the pedestrians still have to wait until the car stops before they walk over.

But a lot of bicycle drivers do not stop but just look over their shoulder while driving towards that area and sway onto the zebra strip and cross the road, then go back on the sidewalk to drive their bicycles there annoying other pedestrians.

So I can also see them being unliked on the street and sidewalks, but somewhere they have to ride. It's a bit of a "can't make it right for anyone" situation and I can somehow understand getting a grudge on car drivers (because for pedestrians, bicycle drivers are the assholes).

Pecking order

Really? What an ignorant overgeneralizing.

I drive Taycan and often it's the other drivers being idiots like challenging me for races, driving into the safety margin distance behind me to signal me to drive even faster or check out the car. Overtaking simply, to one time have overtaken one and other stupid reasons. Or looking over on the Autobahn (highway) checking out the car and coming closer because they forget to stay on their lane.

Add: Most of the time these people EM brake into a corner after enjoying draft and all that and think "I can brake when the brake signals come on in front of me" but instead of breaking I would accelerate into the corner and suddenly you see their beams go down, crossing lanes while braking, front diving into the ground, visible in the back mirror because they thought keeping up = having the same possibilities.

No matter, if the car looks sporty there will be these prejudices and idiots risking their own lives to "show me" or whatever. I am not interested in such dick length comparisons on the street, it can always be settled on the Nordschleife or any other suitable race track if someone thinks they need a race.

Very true, what it basically comes down to is respect for the other.

I've seen disrespect on both sides, so I cannot judge either way.

Sometimes the drivers are assholes, sometimes the pedestrians/bikers are the assholes.

What would be best is if people could stop being assholes.

Agreed! And be aware and cautious about what is happening around them. Like, when I see a cyclist on a long straight and know, if I keep speed I will have to brake and roll behind the bicyclist because we will both reach the curve entry, I will adapt half a km before that and either get off the throttle so I already roll out and can overtake after the curve, still have enough safety margin for coming to a complete stop if necessary.

Or I floor it, get off the throttle before I pull over to overtake to not scare the person off the bike and solve it like that.

Foresight could solve a lot. It would also be a cool thing if bicyclist would just get out of the way to let the convoy that collected behind pass and be on their way again.

At some point, 1 minute for the bicyclist can not be worth 20 times 5 minutes for other people, that's where I personally draw the line. When an hour is wasted because they bicyclist can not be bothered to respect the others in that way to see that in order for being respected as a very slow traffic "member", they have to show some foresight, too.

It takes one minute to let the cars pass but steals an hour collectively from everyone else if they don't do it. Balance and all that.

Dealt with it quite a bit. When I went to school in Orlando I longboarded the mile or so too and from. I would say on average I would almost ( as in if I didnt actively avoid...a few times I had to bail and slide over a car hood) get hit about 4 times a week. For about 3 years this went on...

I got to a point I was so good at telling who was actually paying attention and who wasn't I started yelling out to get the attention of those I knew weren't. Nobody pays attention anymore it seems. Oh and I guess Florida consistently has 4 of the top 5 cities for pedestrian fatalities in the US yearly...and orlando was one of them...its also a no fault state so good luck with having any recourse if you do get hurt.

Yes I have no idea why a car driver who paid -

Vehicle tax
Road tax
Licence tax
Petrol tax
Insurance tax
and a few other taxes I couldn't be bothered listing would have any problems sharing the road with a rider who takes up the lions share of the lane whilst thumbing their noses at the road rules would have any issues sharing the road with a mode of transport that is free and INCOMPATIBLE with the conditions.

In actuality its the riders who have the superiority complex you speak about and should get of the road.....That being said there is definitely no excuse for the bullying tactics vehicle drivers employ when venting their frustration at the riders in question.

Nevertheless, get of the road imbeciles.

(Bad bad bad me)

Funny I always stuck to biking or skateboarding on the sidewalk to keep away from and not impede traffic. While using that sidewalk I would always yield to the slowest traffic. As in if I am the bike a skater or walking person would get the right of way and I would pass when I could or a lot of times they notice and let me on my way. Was never a thing was just how it always was...even as kids growing up no one was really rude like that. Well for the most part at least...always outliers. Also I am only 35 so not like a ton of times has passed since I was a kid...a lot changed fast...

Bike people are insufferable and municipalities should grant no-limit hunting licenses for all drivers including those on learners permits.

In large Russian cities, cyclists have long been riding on specially designated lanes for them on the territory of pedestrians. Bicyclists can meet cars only at intersections regulated by traffic lights.
It is strange that in Britain there are still no such elementary rules for civilized countries.

I couldn't agree more, however I like to look outside my bubble, and see all sides available.

That said, bikers typically are arrogant and literally contribute zero dollars to the roads they 'bike' on.

Won't find a lot of support for them from me

I feel like the only news you get is Russian news, and that sucks because you have been an amazing member from Russia that provides real insight.

What I see in your posts now is Russian propaganda. You are better than that.
