Ok, so let's start this thread with an admission. I've never really believed in the Mandela Effect, nor have i looked into plausible explanations.

However, i do have some experiences which contradict my memory. For example the scene in Moonraker, i always remembered Dolly having braces, something i can't explain.

This time i need real help because either i'm losing my mind or there's been an random edit to this video after watching it 20 times over the last 5 years.

Now, let's get to the point. Tonight after a few beers i decided to listen to some music and i have various bookmarks setup for tunes i like.

The following was listed in my favourites, something i've watched 3 or 4 times in the last month:

At 1:22 i swear i've watched him take a drag of the cigarette then place it behind the strings on the neck. However, now when i watch this video he throws the cigarette away.

Here's where i get confused, after a brief pan to the crowd and without any cut in the music, the cigarette appears back in the guitar at 1:49, where i remember seeing him place it. Did someone run on mid performance with a lit cigarette or did he pull one out of his ass and light it, without missing a note, in the space of 27 seconds?

Can someone find me an uncut version of this video because it's frying my mind. I KNOW that i watched him place that cigarette in that guitar! Can anyone else ever remember watching this video?

I agree with the strangeness of throwing the cig away, only to have it show up in the strings a bit later. However, less than a minute after that, he does take it out, take a drag, and then put it back on the neck. Is that the part you remember?

No, i remember him smoking the cigarette, never throwing it away and repeatedly storing it there.

When he threw it away i was like, WTF, i don't remember that.

Never drinking beer again.

Yeah, the braces thing for sure. It was the funny part of the movie.

There are quite a few discrepancies.

AHAHA, yes you will. You need one right now to deal with this situation.

I don't believe in the Mandela effect either, but I know for a fact than when my kids were little I read them the "Berenstein Bears" every night. I always associated their name with a Jewish name. They were NOT the "Bearenstain" bears like today.

I agree. I have no idea what is going on but I do know we said it with the emphasis on Steen ending to the name and not stain. Maybe that was the deal we misspoke? I am not so sure we would remember it wrong. One more big one for me that has me scratching my head is the "mirror mirror on the wall , who's the fairest of them all". I don't even recall the one it is supposed to be if it isn't that but it is different.

It looks like the internet has an explanation for that one too.

The original story contains “mirror, mirror”, which hundreds of other sources draw from, where as, the Disney movie uses their own spin on it with “magic mirror”. Even if your only notable exposure to this line is the Disney film, the overwhelming amount of other examples, sources and pervasiveness within our culture all point to “mirror, mirror”.

More detailed descriptions of these are listed in the link...

I have this concert on VHS. Edit: and DVD.

It took place over 2 nights in New Haven Connecticut.

I was watching it a couple days ago as the matter of fact.

You'll notice Sammy Hagar do When Eagles Fly one night, then mentions he did it the previous nights show. Then does another solo stating he didn't wish to repeat himself if there were any concert goers from the previous nights show.

So you're looking at to Nights of Concerts edited together.

You're obviously not alone.

James Bond fans seem pretty split on this. A Twitter poll from M16 (a popular James Bond fan site), revealed that 47% of respondents chose “Braces” when asked “What factor first attracted Jaws to Dolly in Moonraker (at first sight)?”. They later wrote an article on the result and their thoughts on the Mandela Effect, and concluding with, “MI6 can confirm that no change has been made to the film. The actress who played Dolly, Blanche Ravalec, did not wear braces in the film. This has been corroborated by others on the production as well as original still photography taken on set.”.

More here on an explanation for the braces...

Had that VHS ( 3 vhs tapes ) since that concert was released on video. Watched every second on that guitar solo till I played it note per note. Wore the hell out of those tapes. Thankfully all the concerts were put on DVD. Which I have.

All of them, even bootlegs.

Could well be over two nights however that doesn’t explain this “edit”.

If you look right before the cigarette reappears his hair his stuck to his shoulder with sweat, 1 second later the cigarette is there yet his hair is still in the exact same position, with a clump stuck to his shoulder.

I have no doubt it’s an editing thing however that edit is new, I’ve watched this so many times and that cigarette has never vanished before, nor do I ever remember him chucking it away.
