I just read an article about how Disney employees who aren't progressive enough are living in a climate of fear they will be fired. Disney used to be
a safe place, free of politics, and all about wholesome fun.
The biggest "sex" scenes was normally a chaste kiss, if even that. Now Disney has pledged to ramp up these scenes and to inject progressive politics
by including gay scenes in most of their content, including for very young children. I always saw Disney as a safe, sex free, innocent place for
young children and families when it comes to content. A place for grandma to watch with the youngest child and all the family safely and with joy and
entertainment.
Lately their movies and shows have ramped up the sex scenes to the point where on Disney+ everything is not safe for young children to watch if you
want your child to remain innocent and care free.
To be clear: I support people's right to be LBGTQ, whatever, Disney added a few more I think. I support their right to live in peace and not be
discriminated against.
However, when it comes to wholesome family entertainment, what I USED to associate with Disney, something the 4 year old and 90 year old can watch
with the entire family. I don't expect political posturing or more than a chaste kiss, hand holding, and certainly not exposing very young children to
a variety of sexual lifestyles.
Personally, when it comes to sex scenes even on regular, non-Disney, TV shows, I find them boring and unnecessary, as if the writers could not write
enough good dialog so they fill it up with 1. passionate stripping 2. kissing a belly 3. a big under the sheet thrust - so predictable and boring
as heck and the tool of a poor writer who needs 3-5 minutes filled with zero dialog and story progression. When waking up in the morning together
with few clothes on gives exactly the same message and allows more time for good dialog and story progression. I digress.
Disney Parks have become playgrounds for the elite and an average ordinary family can no longer afford to go there.
Disney eliminated fast passes for the average person, everyone, and now the elite can buy their way to the head of the line.
Their prices have soared to where last year a family of four spent an average of $5,000-7000 on a multi day, full parks access, trip to Disney.
Their newest hotel/experience costs $6000 for a family of 4 for 2 days, and only limited access to one park.
I remember taking my youngest to Disneyland, she and I alone on a trip, just for fun and spent less than $500 for 2 days plus the long drive. I took
both my kids many times to Disneyworld and Disneyland through the years and it was always affordable for a family. A little bit pricey, yes, but
still very affordable. No more. Disney has now become for the elite only and they seem ok about that.
I was paying for Disney+ for my young grandchildren, but I talked to their Mother and she says it is mostly she and her husband who watch Disney+ and
not the small children because most of the content isn't something she wants them to watch.
Because of all of this I am cancelling Disney+ and all things Disney as their corporate culture is no longer one of joy, kindness, and
wholesomeness, free of politics and daily cares for young and old alike, accessible to everyone.
