If the google covid rate maps are to be believed its never been worse in New Zealand than right now. What is the justification to remove restrictions during a spike in cases?

New Zealand once had an elimination strategy to deal with COVID-19, that worked on two previous outbreaks. These responses were fairly extreme, but existed prior to a vaccine being available.

However, with the increase in infection rates of Delta and Omicron strains, and the rise in numbers of people not willing to take any precautions, that strategy could no longer work, and so several methods were tried to deal with slowing and managing the spread to something that would not flood the health system.

And vaccines against COVID-19 were also now available, and that played a significant part in the management strategy.

You may be right because people were not prepared to be locked away in their homes for weeks or months whilst waiting for the viral particles to disappear as if by magic it's their fault. Shame on the humans.

Seems strange we know sand from the Sahara can be spread for thousands of miles but believe a viral particle can't be spread more than six feet.

As for the vaccines being a management strategy looking at the UK data only 4 million have any form of protection as the official papers say it wanes to zero after 12 weeks. Seems it did work well, everyone is still getting the virus still getting sick.

Suppose you claim it was by design to get omicron to spread naturally next

Hey, if you quarantine in your his for the rest of your life, you'll have a near zero chance at getting a virus with a 99.9% survivability rate. Seems like a sound plan to me.

The MSM are still trying to push new variants and threatening by suggesting there would be new variants the media isn't done with this yet.

It never had a 99% survivability rate.

Even a 99% survivability rate is one death per 100 people, which would potentially mean the deaths of 3.3 million people in the US alone.
