"The best and deadliest sniper in the world" was eliminated 20 minutes after entering a combat position in Mariupol.

All the young men (not to mention all the civilians) who are in this conflict and who are dying is a terrible situation for all concerned . People praying as the bombs and artillery are falling around them which can make a grown man cry for his mamma is not something I would wish upon anyone. A clean head shot is merciful as one moment you are there and the next you are no more; certainly better than being roasted alive in your tank or aircraft..

If you're willing to take a life,
you'd best be willing to lose life as well.

Seriously that smells. what sniper moves with such a high profile? No wonder, they were propably just waiting for him to get into action.
There is no right side when killing people. Every dead soldier is a win russian, Ukrainian, Canadian.
Can't we just ship everyone, that thinks killing people and nukes help anyone, some place, put a giant dome over them give them all the nukes there are. In a few years they will have solved their own problems permanently and the rest of earth might live, with just the one poison dome. Might be an attraction to see the dome of shame a giant mass grave for all these shameful individuals that are up for wars.

You are right, on March 14, Vali was very far from the Yavorsky training ground in the Lviv region, where Russian Caliber destroyed 180 mercenaries. The distance from Lviv to Mariupol is more than 1200 kilometers.

Grunts are the least respected and the most abused by those in power, yet they get the job done.

...annnnnnd, you would be badly mistaken.

Highly trained. Highly motivated. They are, in many cases, the eyes and ears of the military organizations that they belong to.

Going out into No-mans Land, used to go alone, now they go with a spotter, with little to no back-up takes a special sort of courage that is every bit the match of any other soldier going into harms way--especially given how they're likely to be treated if captured.

I don't really feel bad for him, live by the sword and all. I'm astounded a martial discipline focused on evading detection produced a guy that announced on global media that he is entering a warzone. A ghillie suit can only do so much.

Who is Wali ? What is this person´s name. Usually all snipers are known by their real name too .. this has no name?
