Their (secret) respect and admiration of Vladimir Putin's actions are why this will pass and be signed into law.

Putin led the way: www.bbc.com...

Rather than pass a new law, why not just repeal the old one?

Asking for a friend that doesn't follow the clock stupidity, because he lives in a time zone that doesn't do it.

Because it would not specify what time we are actually going to be on and when the change would take place. Could be a slight problem with things like transportation schedules.

OOPS. Has anyone read the bill?

From: congress.gov

(F) by striking “9 hours” and inserting “8 hours”;

(G) by striking “10 hours;” and inserting “9 hours;”;

(H) by striking “11 hours” and inserting “10 hours”; and

(I) by striking “10 hours.” and inserting “11 hours.”.

So, I get the first 10 hours and inserting 9, but can somebody explain the second 10 hours and insertion of 11?

This reads like some badly written code lmao

They did this in the 70's and I had to bring a flashlight to the bus stop. Then they changed it back.

I would have welcomed this when I still administered an Exchange server, now I don't care either way.

Seems like they feel like they need to pass something for the sake of passing something. Since they all agree I guess it's OK, because I think we need to require 80% to pass anything, appointments included.

Not really. They can figure out how to attach tax and spend to anything.

If they want to stop the time-changing, what's wrong with abandoning "daylight saving" instead? What is so important about changing the more natural time?

At least in Britain such obsessives had the argument "we must keep to the same time as Europe", but these people don't even have that excuse.
