America has gotten it's self in way over our heads 1 weak president and the whole planet is at risk of imploding - I myself believe we will just sit back and watch just like we are doing in Ukraine there's no way out of this other then WW3 . China just pretty much said Taiwan belongs to us and theres nothing you can do about it .

Taiwan is doubling it's production of missiles and increased it's defense budget for the next 5 years.

America's major malfunction is her failure to recognize and act on the on-going invasion. America should mobilize and secure her northern and southern borders. And that means the full-force invasion of Canada and all points south to the very southernmost tip of Argentina.

I'm sure the Canucks would seamlessly integrate. The people south of us ... not so much (I don't care). They'll figure out the shortest escape route is between Brazil and North Africa. I wouldn't close it off. Let 'em flee.

That's not exactly true. But, it doesn't mean it's not real.

China's not a country America could take on conventionally. I recall in the not-too-distant-past, we didn't have enough bullets in the inventory to place one-for-one on each chinee soldier wearing a uniform. That's a frightening reality. But, maybe that's why we had a two-year ammo shortage too.

I’m sure it works both ways to be honest. Just tell China, you invade Taiwan, we nuke you. Simple.

Maybe the EU offers a membership in time , they throw memberships prequel and within wars...

"Consequences" seems to be the word of the month.

- US sends weapons into Ukraine. Russia says consequences
- Iran launches ballistic missiles into Iraq. Says there will be harsher consequences.
- US press member killed in Ukraine, US says there will be consequences.
- Russia strikes near Poland. There will be consequences if Russia strikes Poland.
- There will be severe consequences if Russia uses chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine.
- Anyone who tries to stop Taiwan from reunifying with China will face the worst consequences.

The war drums must beat to the rhythm of the saying the word consequences.

More likely is we sink their navy then push to closer the air space near Taiwan as we bomb them and shoot missiles...but I wouldn't be surprised if china nuked a carrier battle group at sea. There would be no civilian collateral out there so they might feel they could get away with it.

Except that China said years ago that if we nuked them we would solve 90% of their problems. They are not afraid of nuclear war. No one wants to die a tragic cringing death in a ball of fire. But, there are more than a billion Chinese people and a great many of them feel they have nothing to live for except another day like today, which for many isn't that great.

The US, however, is scared to death of nuclear war. American people for the most part are not self sufficient. The democrat policies have bred multiple generations of dependent people who could not feed or clothe themselves without a government stipend and public transportation. No one held them back, no one forced them into submission. They were just seduced by a lifestyle of free stuff in exchange for votes.

The one element of the US DoD I have confidence in is our Navy. The chinee are terrified of our subs ... and for damned good reason!!

Their aircraft carriers are horrible too. Their aircraft can hardly take off with any fuel if they have munitions.

Also, don't forget America typically has airspace dominance within a very short period of time, and once you own airspace the fat lady starts to warmup.

Do you nuke them when they call your bluff?

That's exactly what they will do, I've said this since it all started. IIRC we currently have 2 carrier strike groups in the South China Sea and they will take one out with a nuke.

10 years from now, the US will no longer be world hegemon.

I wouldn’t view it as necessarily a bad thing if the Chinese who are likely to take the spot weren’t even worse.

I hope China believes we will use nukes if they invade Taiwan if they use nukes against us. If the US does not use nukes after nukes are used against us, there might be a civil revolt in this country.

In the meantime I may look for plastic and duct tape to keep out radiation and possibly think about how to set up or find a fallout shelter in case I don’t get hit by a nuclear bomb. If what I remember is correct, the first two weeks after nukes fall is the worst for radiation. I’m surprised China wants nuclear war and thinks the US will not go there. They should know we don’t have rational people in charge of this country right now. If they were rational, they would be doing rational things instead of worrying about gas prices being too low and the ocean levels rising one millimeter a year or whatever the amount is.

well it depends on if we tell our allies to hold back so the whole world does not end up unlivable. It does not have to be MAD unless we make it so.
