You have worked your butt off. You are now vacationing in a tropical paradise, drinking a cold fruity drink with an umbrella straw.
The resort workers are waiting on you hand and foot. You are in the best room with a view. Your nights are filled in town hitting the clubs,
And dancing and drinking and eating all kinds of wonderful things. It is literally paradise…until….

The banks cut you off. What do you do?

You have no access to money, and they are trying to ship you back to your war torn home.

Ukraine sanctions trap thousands of Russians in Thailand, unable to find flights or pay for things

He said efforts were being made to get stranded Russians onto flights to Moscow on Middle Eastern airlines and to arrange repatriation flights.
A proposal was being considered to allow the use of cryptocurrency for payments at hotels, flights and other businesses in Phuket, he said.

PS. All those workers that were lovely to you while you had money, wonder how fast that turned when you don’t!!!

This story highlights the plight of both Russians and Ukrainian people stuck in Thailand, but if you think about it, it could be a lot of people at any moment. Right now crypto is saving some, having banks in China is saving others. Remember that old saying, DON’T put all your eggs in one basket!!!!!

That's the bad thing about doing away with travelers checks. Hmm do they still print them these days.

I guess there's worse things to deal with, like getting blown up while trying to flee your country due to an invasion.

Perspective.

Of course. imagine you are in that paradise and get shipped back into that war zone, that is part of this whole scenario that is actually happening.

Also…
Being in a certain foreign country with no money, or even owing some money might be just as dangerous as a war zone.

Russia says it's not an invasion, it's just a military excursion, its more like a boy scout trip.

Yeah, I'm kinda not sad for the Russians. They will however benefit from getting updates on the invasion that aren't Russian state sponsored outlets pedaling Putin's propaganda.

Yeah we really should of done this to all muslims after 9/11. I definitely wouldn't of felt sorry for them!

Wouldn't have gotten me to object to cutting off the Saudis, they aren't our friends.

It’s about the Russians, but it’s not about the Russians.

I wonder if this could be any of us at any given time…

Maybe, but not because the Russians cut us off. Unless you're dumb enough to vacation in Russia.

I've lost count on how many counties the US has invaded and enacted the same wickedness on the general population, I remember American tanks killing families, kids and all trying to flee in Iraq, the world didn't care then.

What's nice about the invasion this time around is that it isn't the US so we can all don our top hats and cry 'oh the humanity?!` from atop our lofty perches.

Surely Russia isn't turning a profit like when the US does it and that is simply unthinkable.

It could happen and does. When credit cards get hacked they shut off your card. Was in Salt Lake City when it happened. 2000 miles from home. Machine took my card on a Saturday night. Luckily I had other cards. Electric money is way too easy.

Luckily we have America to save the world, bombing freedom and justice all over the place and it’s oh so trust worthy media.. and if a tyrant should ever go to far you can blame and punish the civilians. Nothing like a soft target to flex your muscles at.
