Haas Formula One have terminated their deal with Russian sponsor Uralkali and their Russian driver Nikita Mazepin due to the Ukraine invasion , the exclusion of Mazepin will no doubt be a relief to the other drivers on the grid as he has been dubbed the worst F1 driver ever.

The team said in a statement posted on Twitter on Saturday morning: "The Haas team has elected to terminate, with immediate effect, the title partnership of Uralkali, and the driver contract of Nikita Mazepin.

"As with the rest of the Formula One community, the team is shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine and wishes for a swift and peaceful end to the conflict."

The inclusion of Nikita Mazepin on the F1 grid was a symptom of what is wrong with F1 now , pay to play drivers , while talented drivers who can't raise the money to pay for a drive are left out in the cold sponsored drivers like Mazepin get to play race driver.

Virtue signalling has become a wicked vicious tool in the west, why must the Russian people suffer?

How will this move cause the Russian people to suffer any more than they are already ?

Nikita Mazepin is only in F1 because he is the son of the boss of the sponsor of Haas Formula One , not because he's earned the right to be there.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Dmitry Mazepin, CEO of Uralchem and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uralkali.

It's an example of punishing anything and everything Russian which leads to ordinary Russians suffering, it serves no other purpose.

Perhaps Putin should have considered that before he decided to launch his attack , blaming companies for reacting to that atrocity is apportioning blame for something they are not responsible for.

Disgusting, if you support this fascist crap then you need a good slap.

Maybe we should round up every Russian and put them into a Ghetto?

What part in this discussion to go to war did Mazepin play?

If nothing then you’re advocating people losing their job for nothing more than their nationality.

What part did Mazepin play in F1 , other than pissing the professional drivers off ?

His oligarch father paid for his seat at Haas so he isn't really losing anything.

Still not buying it, he lost his job due to his nationality. Slippery slope you're advocating here.

Dirty Russian money is ok as long as it doesn't interfere with building the global empire.

Invading a country that historically belongs to Russia and Poland and is run by a tyrant who has jailed his political and media opponents is not an atrocity, not even close.

Invading a country that historically belongs to Russia

Many countries "historically" belonged to Britain so by that measure we're good to invade them then.

and is run by a tyrant who has jailed his political and media opponents

Are you aware of Alexei Navalny's whereabouts ?

The International Press Institute (IPI), a global network of editors, media executives and leading journalists for press freedom, today condemned the detention of journalists covering a protest in support of jailed opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Russia.

You were referring to Putin ... yes ?

Very poor response.

Not true , we did control many countries that we could lay claim to again because of history , Russia's opposition leader is in prison and Putin has shown himself to be a tyrant , never more so than now.

He's a crap driver, good riddance.

Haas is a privately owned company and can hire and fire who they want.

Although they didn't discriminate based on nationality , his father's company was the sponsor of the team and Nikita Mazepin's drive was a part of that deal so obviously if they drop the sponsor they are no longer bound to provide a seat for Mazepin.

Nikita Mazepin's record really is piss poor and he's had an extraordinary amount of criticism from other drivers.
If it was down to ability he wouldn't have got anywhere near a F1 car.

The only reason he was driving for them was because his Dad sponsored them.
'The team chose not to have him as a sponsor so hence, he gets the boot.

Its Gene Haas's team, he owns it so he gets to do as he pleases with regards to sponsors/drivers etc.....especially crap one's.

Is it ok to discriminate against Russians because of the actions of their president?

If you can’t see that happening then you have your eyes welded shut.
