Anybody notice Discord?

Did anyone notice the recent T&C changes on Discord? I got an email about it a couple weeks ago. Looks like Discord is now jumping on the censorship bandwagon too! That, and sucking up to Micro-SHAFT so they can sell out. They had this big long list of T&C changes, and right at the very end they stuck one in there about how "fake" information, news and politics would result in a ban. I wonder who decides what is "fake"? I mean, in today's age of misinformation and propaganda almost anything could be labeled as having some element of 'fake' to it, or something trumped up, etc.

Looks like another one bites the dust!

I wonder who's next?

ETA - I debated putting this in "New World Order", so mods, if you feel it's better suited for that forum (or other), please feel free to move. Thanks!

Not censorship.

Got their update also.
Mostly because it has grown so large recently.
I think its still good, but l would watch out what you post. l only do music and language there, so no problems so far.

My friends and I just use it for the voice communication to play our weekly "tabletop" role playing games.

The banning on social media and the non subjects of what passes as news these days reminds me of the outlawing of political opposition which is a classic hallmark of totalitarian systems. It does not have to be even political as anyone who goes against the official story can be labeled ???? Undesirable, a terrorist, a no fly person, a no can leave your house person etc etc ??? Kinda sound familiar ?

Someone always says that the entity in question is a private company... OK as a private citizen I choose to not let them get the benefit of my thoughts or links to other news sites as I hopefully watch them die on the vine.

Has anyone suggested they change their site name from "discord" to "forced accord"?

I think were losing folks.

If Socialist Media focused as heavily against pedos as they did right wing opinions then children might be safe on the internet again.

I saw the notice come though, but I hated discord from day one.
IRC is where it's at, but a lot of networks are dying. people are flocking to the less reliable censorship systems because they make it easier to use.

Whatever happened to TeamChat? It was there in the 2000's... is it gone? I prefer not to speak in voice to other gamers, too much noise, and these days, there is a lot of noise.

Well, you may be right, but I like to think there's at least some ebb and flow to it. Looking at it from a half-full perspective, I'd like to think these types of changes are going to backfire bigtime on these social media sites, and that the tide is changing as people wake up and see the real face of this whole 'warm and fuzzy' "woke" movement. There have been some pretty radical governmental changes here just recently over crap like this, when all these liberals woke up (literally) to see what their utopian ideals mean in reality. For example, the City of Aurora, Colorado (overwhelmingly left) just passed a "Camping Ban" law when all these liberals were waking up to find their streets lined with homeless encampments, replete with heavy drug use, crime, stolen property and garbage everywhere! These same liberals were only moments before singing the mantra of..."just let people do whatever they want"...until the people did just exactly that, and then people woke up to the fact that their utopian ideals aren't such a savory thing when it happens in their own front yard. Hypocrites, all, but it was refreshing to watch.

Suppressing free speech is the exact same thing, just manifests itself differently. "Certain" people are allowed to say whatever they way, BUT it depends on who they align with. Other people, not so much.

IRC was the way back in the day. Except DalNet.

Haven't used it in years. Back when #EzTv was still around.

I always notice discord. It's everywhere nowadays. Family members disagreeing over stupid crap. Strangers arguing at stores. Discord is abundant.

At a time when it is signed into law that media outlets may use propaganda against the people, the people are being censored hard from expressing their views.
