I want to take a moment, to recognize the biggest set of balls I have seen in my lifetime. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, president of Ukraine, rather than taking the United States offer to be evacuated from Kyiv, picked up his rifle and is taking on the entire wrath of Russia to defend his country.

Short of a miracle, he and his family’s days are numbered.

Zelenskyy took this stance after he was announced as Russia’s #1 enemy. Zelenskyy family was declared the #2 enemy.

This is the first time I have heard of a head of state taking up arms in defense of his own country since George Washington, a myth to the younger generations.

Zelenskyy days are likely numbered and he knows it. I hope you take a moment to pay homage to him in whatever manner works for you.

Interesting fact and side note, Zelenskyy comes from a background of performance art. Sometimes we are unaware of the strength of character performance arts can bring about character building.

Another side note, we have never seen a war fought with this density of communication available through social media. I watched a video of a Russian paratrooper casually descending from his chopper, announcing his contribution to the effort of invading Ukraine. I also watched videos of Ukrainian soldiers sharing tips on dismantling tanks quickly. Soldiers on both sides are making dance videos and sharing their music, highlighting the humanity caught up in this violence. A shocking new way to experience a war.

Here's Zelenskyy tiktok post, pledging to stay with a smile on his face.

I wonder if we might not see Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev any time soon, I hope he and Volodymyr Zelenskyy remain safe and free from the madness of Putin

The Moscow Times says the number of Russian public figures similar to Andrey Rublev speaking out against war is growing. www.themoscowtimes.com...

Putin is used to controlling the narrative and the media. I wonder how he will handle this surprise. In his last tantrum, Putin was visibly emotional. Is there luck to be seen here?

You have never heard of Polish President Józef Piłsudski who led his troops during The Russo-Polish War of 1920.

Yes, it was against those bloody Russians again.

But Poland wasn't.

From what I understand his family WAS evacuated. It still takes nothing away from him.

I would hope he evacuated his family, and yes for the first time in my lifetime I am seeing a countries leader take similar risks to his troops.

I am also fully aware this could be pure propaganda, but till proven otherwise I will accept the information as its presented.

His last live post today, Zelenskyy said that his family is still in Ukraine, but he will not divulge where in Ukraine. I noticed that he did not say his family is still in Kyiv, which is where they were yesterday.

This may have changed since his last post and you might have more recent knowledge.

Either way, I hope he DOES evacuate his family.

But when he was offered to come to the Donbass and talk to the people (the leaders of the DPR and LPR guaranteed his safety), he did not have the courage.

I'm highlighting the hypocrisy of stating Ukraine is the victim of Russian aggression when it's history is tainted with that very characteristic. When they're pro-America they're a victim and when pro-Russia an enemy. It makes me laugh how easily politicians and media moguls can influence the masses into switching allegiance with mere suggestion.

You're free to jump on the hype and propaganda train, personally i'll take facts over PR.

If the Russians kill or imprison Zelenskyy now, Putin will be making such a martyr out of him that even the Vatican will agree to grant this Jewish comedian, turned president/martyr sainthood!

Hey there,

My post did not say anyone was a victim. The post is strictly an acknowledgment of Zelenskyy's bravery, and the invitation to pay homage for that attribute. When circumstances get dangerous or stressful, protectors seem to flee the scene these days. It is refreshing to see Zelenskyy's commitment.

Whether you agree with the premise for his bravery, or not.
I purposefully made no mention of the premise; i.e. victimhood or lack of.

It makes me laugh

There are worse things war can do to a person than bring them a chuckle. I am glad that is what you can muster out of the situation.

influence the masses into switching allegiance with mere suggestion

Looks like your allegiance came out with less than a suggestion through my post. Thanks for the chuckle back.
