I didn't write much, if anything, about any of this, but I'm at a point now where it might benefit some to see it, so I will share.
Not sure ho much of this I mentioned previously, but back in mid-October I had a massive DVT with a double PE in both lungs. Spent some quality ICU
time, blah, blah, blah (don't want to bore anyone, as I know I often do).
Not long after this I had some pretty serious issues with my left hip. Long story short, it needs replaced now. So, there's that also. Then there
were some iron issues with my blood. Even more joy. Anyway...
Had to make some lifestyle changes, as you might figure. Quit smoking, quit drinking, eating healthier.
On October 17, 2021 I quit smoking. Quit drinkin' alcohol too. Kind of a bummer, but I got used to it.
Today, I am 40 lbs lighter, can see my belt buckle without sucking in my gut, forgot all about cigarettes, and don't think I even want a beer anymore.
As I've told everyone who will listen, I will never be that holier-than-thou former smoker. I smoked, I liked it, I quit...that's all there is to
it. Period. I drank, I liked it, it didn't like me, and I quit. Again, that's all there is to it. I never tried to diet in any way, but shed the
weight just by not being a piglet (a really big piglet, but piglet all the same).
Former Will Power = 0.5%. Current Will Power = 99.9%
Moral - If you're interested, you can do it. If I could do it, anyone can. If you're not interested, I completely understand. Far be it from me to
pass judgement one way or the other. I will still be a friend either way.
That is all.
Cheers!
