During the summer, I found out the band, Imagine Dragons, was going to Long Island, NY. I really like the band, but they are my future wife's favorite. Naturally, one of the things I'd wanted to do for her was take her to see them, and the opportunity came. I saved up during the summer to be able to pay for tickets in the pit, and oh man, was it worth it. I'll try not to ramble too much about Imagine Dragons here, because I made this post to talk about the opening band. The show was humble, and full of love. I'd like to share one anecdote from our pit before I continue on to talk about the opening band.

One of the other groups in our pit was a mother, and her daughter. I'm not sure how old she was but, maybe around 13-14. According to her mother, she could see a little bit, but was legally blind. She also has Downs. But it was her favorite band and so her family made sure she could get up and close. One downside to this though, was this sweet girl was just barely breaking 4'... so couldn't really get up close without the platform blocking her limited view. During the song, "Whatever it Takes", the lead is standing over us singing. Then the amazing thing happened!

The group right next to us, closest to this little girl, brings her up and lifts her up! The lead singer noticed her and dropped to his knees and sang right to her! Shook her hand and ruffled her hair. It was beautiful, I tell you what. Lol.. I have no shame admitting my eyes watered up. Made that girls night!!

I'm not pointing out which dumbass I am in this video - but you can see the whole thing here. The girl herself is obscured, but the moment was captured.

2:20 is when she gets brought up and he notices her.

Okay, so onto the opening band. I had never heard them before, to my knowledge. I guess they did some songs for the Suicide Squad movies, but Idk, never watched them tbh. The band was called, Grandson. Lots of cool tracks, some rap/hip hop/alt rock/headbanging moments. So, some of you may know them already. I'm only gonna mention one song in particular. The lyrics caught my attention. No conspiracy here, just interesting lyrics I felt had a lot of deeper meaning. They are as follows;

Nobody really cared, so it never really mattered
It never really mattered, so it never really happened
What's the point in fighting for a happy ever after?
The past keeps haunting the future, I imagine

All I ever wanted was a little peace and quiet
Just color in the lines, and you'll get it like they promise
If you bite the hand, get louder and defiant
Then you'll see how quickly they come making a deposit

One false move, you're a Kennedy
If you fight it you're the enemy
I'm so sick, but I can't find a remedy
I'm still tryna find my identity

Where's my head? On the podium
Gas me up, no petroleum
I'm so sick, but I can't find a remedy
I'm still tryna find my identity

Mass detention
Debt collection
Misdirection
Got lost, missed intervention
We missed redemption
Missed reflection
Kissed the weapon
Skipped the lesson
Caught an infection

Mass confusion
Air pollution
Compromised foreign contribution
Mass epidemic
No mask, gonna mask call a medic
Go fast or I last apathetic
Might crash, I'm a hack, I'm pathetic I know
Times ain't changing, the sun don't show
And the trees won't grow, and the bombs keep dropping
The fake tan on the TV keeps talkin'
Just wanna be optimistic
My sanity's gone off ballistic
Train was leaving, I just missed it
Guess that I'm stuck with this #
Damn

One false move, you're a Kennedy
If you fight it, you're the enemy
I'm so sick, but I can't find a remedy
I'm still tryna find my identity

Where's my head? On the podium
Gas me up, no petroleum
I'm so sick, but I can't find a remedy
I'm still tryna find my identity

I'm still tryna find my identity

One false move, you're a Kennedy
If you fight it, you're the enemy
I'm so sick, but I can't find a remedy
I'm still tryna find my identity

Where's my head? On the podium
Gas me up, no petroleum
I'm so sick, but I can't find a remedy
I'm still tryna find my identity

Pretty much, I just think the song is dope, and maybe others here would like it too.

"One false move, you're a Kennedy"

Fight TPTB, you're dead.

I got freaking vaccinated for this #, against my personal thoughts on all that. But I would do it ten times over, to see that joy all around. Especially on my girl's face. I will happily grow a third arm and a couple extra nipples to see her so full of stress free happiness. She glows.

Will keep you guys updated on any extra limbs or magnetism.

Peace and Love!

Well here is a second one:

We'll never get free
Lamb to the slaughter
What you gon' do when there's blood in the water?
The price of your greed is your son and your daughter
What you gon' do when there's blood in the water?

Look me in my eyes
Tell me everything's not fine
Oh, the people ain't happy
And the river has run dry
You thought you could go free
But the system is done for
If you listen real closely
There's a knock at your front door

We'll never get free
Lamb to the slaughter
What you gon' do when there's blood in the water?
The price of your greed is your son and your daughter
What you gon' do when there's blood in the water?

When there's blood in the
(Uh, uh)
When there's blood in the
(Uh, uh)

Beg me for mercy
Admit you were toxic
You poisoned me just for
Another dollar in your pocket
Now I am the violence
I am the sickness
Won't accept your silence
Beg me for forgiveness

We'll never get free
Lamb to the slaughter
What you gon' do when there's blood in the water?
The price of your greed, your son and your daughter
What you gon' do when there's blood in the water?

When there's blood in the water
(Uh, uh)
When there's blood in the
(Uh, uh)

I am the people
I am the storm
I am the riot
I am the swarm
When the last tree's fallen the animal can't hide
Money won't solve it
What's your alibi?
What's your alibi?
What's your alibi?

What you gon' do when there's blood in the, blood in the water?
When there's blood in the water
(Uh, uh)
When there's blood in the
(Uh, uh)
When there's blood in the water

Okay last one.

Now, Tommy's a good father
Of two sons and a daughter
But he wakes up and he asks himself
Why even bother?
If he cannot feed his family
The wage he's paid's insanity
Every day he's dealing with a new calamity

Lost his old occupation
But it wasn't immigration
It was a machine, automation that replaced him
Politicians left him, corruption since the recession
So he grabs his Smith and Wesson
And says he'll teach 'em all a lesson, like

Get down on the ground
It's a stick up
Nobody make a sound
Don't even hiccup or I'm emptying the round
I'm done playing games
So I'm going down in flames
Let it rain over Washington

It's a stick up
Nobody make a sound
Don't even hiccup or I'm emptying the round
I'm done playing games
So I'm going down in flames
Let it rain over Washington

Now first he'd lost his pension
Sunk into depression
Congress is defecting
It's been adding to the tension
Came back from war, and he's been post-traumatic stressing
Can't afford his medicine he took for his aggression

He needs help
Relying on this system that rejects him
Took away his benefits, but left him with his weapon
Bought a one way ticket
He's entering the thicket
To do the only thing
That he's thinking will make a difference, like

Get down on the ground
It's a stick up
Nobody make a sound
Don't even hiccup or I'm emptying the round
I'm done playing games
So I'm going down in flames
Let it rain over Washington

It's a stick up
Nobody make a sound
Don't even hiccup or I'm emptying the round
I'm done playing games
So I'm going down in flames
Let it rain over Washington

There's a cold wind blowing
I'm just warning and preparing ya
There's a cold wind blowing
And it's coming for America
And it's coming for America

And it's coming for America

Get down on the ground
It's a stick up
Nobody make a sound
Don't even hiccup or I'm emptying the round
I'm done playing games
So I'm going down in flames
Let it rain over Washington

It's a stick up
Nobody make a sound
Don't even hiccup or I'm emptying the round
I'm done playing games
So I'm going down in flames
Let it rain over Washington

There's a couple times I've taken girls to a show, and then about halfway through the show, I looked down at her, then squatted down to her level lol, and realized she couldn't see hardly anything. Never understood why they didn't tell me sooner.

I'm about 6'1". Never have any trouble seeing.
It's a completely different world for 5'6" (or shorter).

Grandson is on one track of (guitarist from Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, etc...) Tom Morello's 'The Atlas Underground Fire' (2021) Album. I wasn't real sure who grandson was. I just knew the song. Hadn't even seen the video until now.

A protest song.

Tom Morello - Hold The Line (feat. grandson) [Official Video]

Nobody said it would be easy
Nobody said that it would all be fine
But to get where we're going
Brother you’ve gotta hold the line
It ain’t a matter of if,
Nah, it's just a matter of time
But to get where we're going
Sister gotta hold the line

You gotta stay steadfast
Tread lightly
‘Cause they’re looking for a reason to knock you down
But you can't ask too politely
In the trenches you gotta get loud

Hold the line
Hold the line
Don't pay ‘em no mind
Oh, hold the line
Hold the line

Nobody said it happens overnight
but if you're looking for a sign
Remember everybody that stood up before you
Oh they hold the line
They wanna tell you you're already free
Put these chains on and rob you blind
When they co-op the movement
Don't trip just hold the line
Hold the line,
Hold the line

Hold the line
Hold the line
Don't pay ‘em no mind
Oh, hold the line

You gotta stay steadfast
Tread lightly
‘Cause they’re looking for a reason to knock you down
But you can't ask too politely
In the trenches you gotta get loud

I'm not pointing out which dumbass I am in this video - but you can see the whole thing here.

I looked for you in that video. I didn't see you anywhere. I'm starting to suspect that your avatar might not actually be a realistic pic of you...
