I don't remember those candies in the stores around here. Although, in the seventies I was not eating much sweets other than cinnamon rolls and locally made donuts to go with my coffee. But in the sixties I don't remember anything like that around here.

I agree with oddscreenname, I think you are referring to Necco wafers. I used to love them as a kid and the Necco made the Sweethearts Valentine hearts too. Always loved those but hated the Brach's brand. And yes, they do still make Chunky bars, we sell them at my store. Sold a few this week actually!


Missed where you said not Necco, sorry. I'm at a loss then but at least you know they still make the Chunky bars still lol

Wow, haven't heard of a Chunky bar in decades LOL the square bar chocolate/raisins/and peanuts silver mylar wrapper.

they were a delicacy they weren't in stock everywhere in the 70's

Just what kids wanted.. fruit with their chocolate…lol
But I like em..

I was very frugal with my candy bar money, we'd scrounge for change, return bottles for deposit, most times it was one candy bar and some 5 cent bubblegum.

I used to love the marshmallow ice cream cones
found some at a Mexican store! a little stale.

remember raisin biscuits by Sunshine?
no longer made but they have a similar one available from Amazon. imported from England I think.

If it has marshmallow in it, it's a deal breaker for me. Peeps, for example, are the most vile creations ever conceived.

What about those waxy candies full of juice, sometimes shaped like a soda bottle. They would taste good the first minute while it had juice but then you find yourself chewing on tasteless wax.
