Happy Birthday to you!
I had to think of the freedom fighters in the Third Reich, especially Sophie Scholz of the resistant group Weisse Rose. It´s shocking how that, what she and her fellow freedom fighters said back in time, fits exactly in our time now. What ou and all the other canadian freedom fighters do there is not a walk in the park, it´s not for fun, music and free cookies. It´s for freedom!
Here are some quotes of anti-fascism freedom fighter Sophie Scholl i wanted to leave here as motivation for you people over there:
"After all, someone had to start with it."
“Stand by the things you believe in. Even if you're standing there alone."
"Such a beautiful day and I'm supposed to go. But what does our life matter if we can use it to rouse and wake up thousands of people.”
"The law is changing. Not the conscience.”
"The real damage is done by those millions who want to 'survive'. The honest men who just want to be left alone. Those who don't want their little lives disturbed by something bigger than themselves. Those without sides and without reasons.”
“So many think what we said and wrote. Only they dare not say it.”
"I can't understand that people are constantly being endangered by other people. I can never understand it and I find it appalling. Don't say it's for the fatherland."
"Personally, I don't want to have anything to do with National Socialism."
“Sometimes I dread war and all hope is gone. I don't even want to think about it, but soon there will be nothing but politics, and when it's so muddled and evil it's cowardly to turn away from it."
"I still believe I did the best I could for my people right now. I therefore do not regret my actions and I want to accept the consequences that arise from my actions."
— Sophie Scholl Answer to the final question as to whether she "didn't come to the conclusion that [her] actions and the action taken together with your brother and other people, especially in the current phase of the war, is to be regarded as a crime against the community, but especially against our troops, who are fighting hard and hard in the East, which must be condemned in the strongest terms." Excerpts from the interrogation protocols, February 1943

Good thread, pointing out the hypocrisy of it all "you are forcing business to close". Still laughing about that one!
Also, although too late, hope you had a nice day, yesterday. Happy Birthday in retrospective
WHO WE ARE: We are truckers, moms, students, nurses, doctors, investors, county workers, teachers, cowboys, loggers, engineers, sanitation workers, professors, cashiers, flight attendants, pilots, sales reps, physical therapists. WE ARE, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, married, single, divorced, separated, gay, straight. WE ARE Black, White, Asian, Native American. WE ARE immigrants, natives: WE ARE citizens of the free world.
To our elected officials that believe they rule us: YOU work for US. Our constitution was written to provide enough power to act on a national level, but not enough to deprive the people of fundamental rights. The people are prepared to see this challenge through — as we have seen through all challenges to our Freedom in the past. And we will prevail and prosper.
To our brave and courageous neighbors to the North — our Canadian brothers and sisters who led the charge — we join your call to Freeedom with THE PEOPLE’S CONVOY.
LET THE GOLDEN LIGHT OF LIBERTY BURN BRIGHT: LET FREEDOM ROLL!!

National emergency
3 For the purposes of this Act, a national emergency is an urgent and critical situation of a temporary nature that
(a) seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians and is of such proportions or nature as to exceed the capacity or authority of a province to deal with it
Has anyone so much as stubbed their toe as a result of these protests? Has the aforementioned toe stubbing been left untreated?
If not, I'd have to call BS on the "National Emergency."
Zero incidence of violence or injuries related to the protest.
Trudeau is just having a temper tantrum and throwing his toys around.

The Pandemic was contained enough in it's early stages
to literally slow it to nothing .
That period was a month ... maybe two .
As it weakened , the rhetoric/BS , increased exponentially .
Beyond that , it became a gold mine .
Big Meds are pushing their luck with the scam ,
nobody needs martial law over a cold !
