Neil Young's music quietly returns to Spotify. That was fairly quick guess he missed one month's royalty check and said enough

LMFAO!
Spotify should have told him “No thanks, take your garbage elsewhere”

I'm not sure what to call this. It's totally new territory. Kneel sold out, to himself, then sold himself out again.
Is this like fighting to prove you are a douche, when everyone already knew?

But if the $57 bucks a month was that important, I'm glad he isn't going to a shelter.

Has anybody thay has spotify checked to see if his full catalogue is there?

I remember reading something the other day to the extent that some of his music stayed. He didn't own the rights to soundtracks, collaborations, and events.

Well here's the thing if it's only 57 bucks why even slink back to Spotify, Id say either he makes more than that or he caught some grief either way for whatever reason he is back. Makes me wonder though what the point was? LOL at least wait another month or something, give it a chance to blow over.

You are correct upon further search it is only a limited amount of his songs, the only song of his I liked was "Old Man" just was never a huge fan anyway...

I'm not sure what to call this.

In the online multiplayer game world, the term "FF" comes immediately to mind. Young got his bluff called and forfeited. He ends up looking too weak to pull a greased string from a cat's ass... which, not coincidentally, is about how weak he looked before all of this with his whiny ass lyrical talents.

(and before anyone breaks into the "you sound like an old fart that doesn't get the youth's music when you call the lyrics whiny" let me just say that I'm not sure Neil Young has had a single charted song since I was a toddler. The guy's glory days were back in my grandparents' and my parents' generation and those songs sucked a fat, sweaty ass. I will never understand how an entire generation's music was so overpopulated with grown men whining and crying about utter nonsense in nearly every effing song. Men who did everything possible to dodge the military attempting to wax poetically about the travails and experiences they purposefully ran away from... Neil Young is a douche.)

Ironically, he didn't seem to own the rights to a lot of the music that was removed.

I'm not really familiar with a lot of his music myself. I've never heard any of his songs and thought I needed to check into him further.

He was a little before my time, about the only tune he did that I knew when it came out was "Keep on Rockin in the Free World"

But I did semi enjoy CSNY they got one song on "Teach your children well" but CSN is also selling their merch on Spotify.

On Neil Young Radio a lot of his songs as well as CSNY are there but can't be listened to.

so perhaps the Old Man is still searching for a heart of a gold while rocking in the free world

It isn't, this is music not owned by WB, it seems to be songs used on soundtracks or live shows so some other group owns the rights.

In an online message first reported by Rolling Stone Monday, Young accused Spotify of “spreading fake information about vaccines” by hosting the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, remarking, “They can have Rogan or Young.” Spotify, which in 2020 struck a $100 million deal with Rogan to exclusively host his podcast, has not yet responded publicly to Young’s ultimatum

Fake news. There's a few songs still there that he probably doesn't own, but none of his albums are available.

But he said, and I quote:

“They can have Rogan or Young.”

So he is that stupid, or just doesn't have any control over the music he sold for his soul lunch money?

He doesn't have control over any of his music, WB took his side with the main part of his catalogue, it appears whomever owns the music still on Spotify didn't.

So Kneel doesn't have any power at all to threaten to pull his music....that's even sadder than it was when he was going against himself. Now he can't even protest without being shown to be a giant douche. I feel a bit sad for him.

As if fuax news cares, they got their outrage clicks and money off the back of the story, everybodys happy/dour, same as yesterday, same as tomorrow

He does to the degree that if WB wants to keep him happy they can listen to him. Legally he has no ability to compel them but he can become a PR nuisance if they don't. Just my take.

They obviously listened to him so I guess he has some pull at WB.
