Night City is probably the best playground in any open world game I've played and Jackie Welles the best NPC companion , I got quite attached to that guy.
I've played up to the point the game tells you if you go any further you're in end game territory so I didn't proceed and just played around doing jobs and side quests for a while , just waiting now to see what they've added so I can start a fresh and do it all again.

Cyberpunk ship sailed long ago .

steamcharts.com...

Will never trust that trash lying company again . I played cyberpunk for sake of beating it and adding another notch to the belt ...

But it feels like a chore to play. I'm never excited to load it up . Don't connect to the characters . Just wanna rush through and finish it ... Will never buy anything from that company again ...

If i want a half finished games. i have COD /Battlefield for that .

What we bought when we first got that game was a game with it's heart ripped out.

It wanted to be a futuristic GTA V and had some limited RPG element's bolted on but no real free playstyle, you were stuck in your role with the only differences being the starting character and good and bad choices but no real faction alignment beyond your need to get Johnny out of your head OR become him.

With the exception of the graphics technically GTA V was the better game by far (even if it felt repetitive and boring after a few play's and I Would argue that Cyberpunk had a little more staying power if only for the great design of some parts of the city and the wish to explore them a bit more).

But the world that was created for Cyberpunk felt more interesting.

Had it been done as it was originally envisioned it would have been a superb game, ride the rail network a cut feature along with whole cut quests, engage in car chases and pursuits as it was meant to be and not on the rails cut scene type shootouts but proper dynamic chases.

Play as a true bounty hunter or even join the police would have been a great option for the corporat with an underlying clear your name and get revenge missions, smuggle if you were a nomad with underworld connections as it should have been perhaps contraband from the rest of the US.

The tank for what it is worth was a cool idea but definitely could have done with some more work, the cars were nice too but handline needed mods' to get the best feel for the game and some blade runner inspired mods' went a long way toward making it more fun but it was ultimately a miss sold unfinished game with too few missions, some of them were cool though like tracking a man's wife and finding out that she was not who she claimed to be but had a full body cosmetic work done, even though rudimentary it showed that a private detective story line would definitely have worked.

I liked the atmosphere if not the music, made it better with some blade runner inspired mod's such as turning Misty into Pristy (Whom she was inspired by anyway) which was great fun.

But those bug's, some were minor like the missing lod that shows up as you drove the back road from the second nomad camp back to the city that showed something had been there but removed during development likely another town or something leaving just some disappearing and reappearing mountain lod's.

The fake distant traffic was a let down too.

But there is a rumour that 1.5 may include a second city and a new area to explore, perhaps it will also include some true RPG Elements and a new game mod, start as a completely different character, play out a different story.

But for all that it's story was actually good though I felt like CDPR had taken me for a mug when I bought it and expected far more than I got.

Still we that really want a blade runner open world RPG will continue to have to wait until someone makes one.

I've only preordered two games in my entire life. One of those being Cyberpunk 2077.

My experience with the game was on console but on both the Xbox One X and then, later, a Series X I didn't encounter too many of the notorious and game breaking bugs. The worst it got for me was on the One X and involved the game crashing way, way, way too much. Still, wasn't enough to completely put me off the game.

At least not over the bugs.

My last straw with the game came when they patched out a silly little exploit that involved using the vending machine in-game stores to dupe items. I'm not the sort to often use glitches or exploits for progression but in this specific game - well it's single player and the upgrade / min-max grind can ( or at least could at the time ) get a bit out of hand.

My feeling at that point was "LOL game broken as Hell and the thing they care about is preventing me from turning 10 crafting items into 20. What rubbish".

For awhile I would sometimes see an article or see the game listed in my owned-games and think "Maybe when the next gen version comes out I'll try again. I mean running around making people go psycho with mind power or slicing and dicing everyone I see with robotic arm claws is kind of fun in a mindless way".

But truth is - the problems with Cyberpunk aren't going to be resolved with ray tracing or bug fixes or a few new missions via free DLC. This is a game that's broken at it's core. It's miles wide and inches deep but just glossy enough of a surface to make it seem like it could be deeper.

Short of "Hey we remade the entire game from the ground up" I don't see things changing much.

I liked the game, but figured I'd put it aside until the PS5 and other upgrades where put in. Honestly, I never had much of an issue with any bugs or what have you. Only thing I hated was when I got upgraded armor/gear, my toon looked like he got dressed with a bunch of mismatched stuff that looked really goofy

I did not have game breaking bugs and the gameplay was quite fun , was close to finishing the main story line but put it on hold because i kinda got bored a bit.

Although the combat is super good at some point it gets pretty easy.

Did enjoy it though , my approach was using hacks to blind cripple enemies or disable the weapons then do hit and run attacks with gorilla arms , jump back to cover with the double jump boots and repeat.

With guns it goes too quick , gotta play with your food a bit lmao.

Downloading my 50 GB update now!

I might have a reason to seriously try to find a Series X now.
I’m playing on a One X

43.4 Gig over on the PC but that is on the back of several other updates, Star Wars the old republic being one, no mans sky being another and they all take ages even on broadband over here in the UK.

Curiosity is dragging me back to see if they have put that second city into it though like I say it was the blade runner type setting that I wanted to experience.

For me though the best game NOT developed by a mega studio was this two level short that was definitely inspired by Star Wars games as much as it was by Thief and of course Blade Runner, even his story was better and I would love to see what this could have turned into it a big studio had taken it up, still despite the limitations of the old Serious Sam engine the mod maker made something excellent if too short and perhaps a one time playthrough, no driving cars and sadly you don't get to drive a Spinner but think Jedi Knight Dark Forces two gameplay and you are coming close.

Painful to watch that, watching someone else play and miss the obvious and he missed the Roy Batty tears in the rain dead replicant Easter egg after shooting down the police spinner, your character is a Nexus 8 prototype Doll that was still in the tank when some Wallace corporation elite security units storm the laboratory were you are being held murdering the Tyrell security and scientists (presumably after Tyrell had been killed and before they bought out the Tyrell stock), you wake later in a examination chair and break free of your restraints before having to fight your way out of the Wallace Corporation laboratory were you find yourself, you have no memory of whom or what you are but being scared and shot at by security forces after breaking free of your restraint's you have no choice but to fight back or die.

From there it is an on the rails shoot out with some very interesting work done to the game world before you encounter a non hostile NPC whom it so happens is a low ranking technician - or is he - whom is sympathetic to you and helps you out, you are eventually pursued by a blade runner that is obviously not human but almost terminator like in his unstoppable hunt before escaping after defeating him, it was obvious that the mod was meant to have a follow up but it was sadly never made.

Now that is what I want but in the Cyberpunk or rather the Unreal 5 engine.

That said if I am still around I can't wait for the star wars open world RPG that is rumoured to be in development but am also getting ready to be disappointed, I mean they killed 1313 because some idiot executive did not like the fact it did not have microtransactions in it.

It was apparently complete as well just needing a bit of bug fixing and then it would have been ready for release, my only niggle being that it was third person and I am a first person player so?, third person is more for game controllers in my opinion than mice and keyboard players.

Well no visit to Busan city so that was just a rumour but they have improved a lot, made it so that you can edit your character but only a bit with many of the character creation features not available to edit but it is more realistic in that way.
Better vehicle handling but there were mods that already improved that a lot more than they have.

Still it's an interesting game world and I may give it a bit more of a spin to see what new features and missions they have put into it.

Have to wait a few days for updates to the mod script's though and to even get the game to start I had to uninstall Sonic Studio 3, never had a problem with it before but apparently it was broken (According to a quick search of the net) and would not let me start the game but once I uninstalled it game booted up fine (after a system restart to flush the active drivers from memory).

Turned on my Series X yesterday and was immediately informed that Cyberpunk was udpating ( 64 GB patch I believe, or close to it ).

Last night I sat down to play a bit of Forza Horizon 5, saw the Cyberpunk tile bumped to my recent activity area and thought "Hell with it. I guess I can give the game another try" and fired it up.

The performance was worse than I remember it being. The framerate seemed abysmal and between it and the input lag ( that I don't think existed before the patch ) it was making me a bit motion sick to play. However aside from a few warm flashes and minor nausea it never got too bad to continue - so I kept going.

I had opted for a clean start since I hadn't touched the game in a long time and was doing the tutorial / intro for the nomad path. Did all the things, went through the first combat mission, suffered through the super long drive with Jackie through the police checkpoint - got dropped off at V's apartment, laid down to sleep - which is the trigger to start the actual game... And when V went to sleep and the screen faded to black... I found myself looking at my Xbox dashboard. Game had crashed to desktop.

I want to like this game. I want for this to be a good game. I really, really do. Like I said, I've only preordered games twice in my entire life and THIS was one of them.

It's still a hot mess. In fact, at least for me, I think this patch is worse than when the game released.

Just got done checking out the new patch plus the 10GB update released today and it seems all is well , better performance on my rig as I'm now running 1440p using the same settings and getting 60fps or there abouts , population and traffic density are better and the tweaks to combat feel good , Night City looks glorious , CDPR are definitely moving in the right direction.

Looks like Cyberpunk is getting another time out for now. Just got Horizon Forbidden West and can't put it down. It'll be in the conversation when people start talking about GOTY

I purchased the game the other day for the series X, i have noticed you simply cant play with ray tracing on, the performance is abysmal with little noticable benefits

While on performance mode it is certainly playable, check which setting you are on

As for the game itself my initial impressions is there is far to much thrown at you early on, I was googling so many aspects of the systems from gear to how to find Vs home, I am 7 hours in now, stopped main questing (next is to meet at afterlife) and started just cruising the streets

Improvments still needed, Jackie walked through my car on one mission, you need to be able to turn off having a mission active, inverntory managment (need to mark items as fav/junk)

I like the look of the game as this is my first impression I dredd to think what it was like when it was initially released
