They tried that before, and, as before, found that the supply lines are too far to be financially practical.

The Russian economy is too fragile to support a play with so little geopolitical benefit.

The last time they tried such a strategy it resulted in the eventual breakup of the Soviet Union.

No one will launch a nuke that would be the dumbest thing anyone could do . What good is a glass country and just what would be the consequences to the non involved country's ?

Take a look at the current US administration. Then maybe rethink things.

One of the jobs of an Embassy is to ensure that citizens who want to get out can get out. That's why they are usually the last to leave. The US didn't close it's Embassy in Lebanon in the early 80's even after it was blown up. That's first hand information. I was part of the group that planned the evacuation if necessary.

Nothing personal but, they need to go back to teaching Civics and History in schools instead of the Liberal Socialist propaganda called Social Studies.

Biden shutdown the construction of the Keystone pipeline as soon as he took office. At the time he was sworn in the US was "energy independent". Other Biden orders stopped that and raised our energy costs. Now Biden is making a big deal about the Ukraine possibly being invaded by Russia. So far all that's done is to jack up the price of oil and natural gas. People say Trump was in Putin's pocket. After seeing this I have to ask is it Biden who is really in Putin's pocket and the Trump bit was just a smokescreen? Look at Hunter's antics. I learned a long time ago when the Democrats accuse Republicans of doing something, it is usually the Democrats who are doing it.

Why Is it Not in Russia's Interest to Invade Ukraine?

Naturally, an invasion of Ukraine would be a disaster for the Ukrainian population, described here are a myriad of reasons why Russias invasion would be a disaster for Russia.
Just a few reasons enumerated here:

Militarily it can easily turn into an Afghanistan-type nightmare for Russia as a Ukraine insurgence heats up if Russia occupies that huge country of 40 million people. Remember Russia like the US had to leave their Afghan war.

Economically, it might strangle Russia. Politically, it already has invigorated NATO and any invasion would make increase that. Countries not in NATO are now ready to join, such as Sweden and Finland

The Russian economy has already been gutted by sanctions and this small Russian economy, where the state of California is bigger. So, if Russia attacks they will face more devastating sanctions to an already weak and feeble Russian economy.

On the other hand, Putin has a legitimate case and hopefully, NATO and Russia will come to terms and save the Russian people and the Ukrainian people from this terrible and unnecessary war.

By its very definition, a World War would mean all countries giving it all they've got.
