My guess is that there is some substantial money involved. That is usually the greatest motivator for government action. Or in this case, holding steady on the status quo (because the pharmaceutical companies say so).

The governor of Illinois finally gave in and decided to remove the mask mandate on February 28th, but not the REAL MONEY MAKER, the vaccine mandate.

He was really hoping to keep the big scary pandemic going full blast, so Biden/Pelosi would send the $40 Billion they promised, for bailing out the mismanaged (ripped-off) school teachers pension fund.

But Pritzker ran out of excuses for screaming "Wolf!", and Biden/Pelosi reneged on their promises to him, like they did everyone else in the dim party.

Here's a good FoxNews segment, pointing out how Canada's Freedom 2022 movement is having the desired (positive) effect with leaders there, and here in the U.S..
