Why People Scream

Here is a little story about screaming.

Many years ago I went to Amsterdam and me and my partner took some fungi.......
We were walking along the street and I was struggling to keep up pace with my partner.......I went to say their name and say, slow down, I can't keep up.
I heard a loud scream......it took a second or two for me to realise that it was coming from me!

Each time that I tried to speak...... screaming happened.
I had to literally cover my mouth and speak through my fingers to stop the scream from happening.

Super interesting!!
Not going to postulate the fungus aspect, but it's wild that some part of you instinctively did what was necessary to be heard. It obviously very important to "some part of you"!
